Not sure if you can answer but EC will be the first to get outta door right?

Yes, I think that is the plan.

If the extended cut fails to make sense of the senseless ending then the future dlc can suck my bollocks... just sayin.

Actually, given the general climate and the low success odds of the above, the best business decision for bioware would be to cut and run, stop all teams working on anything ME related and move to a new franchise. Something as far away from the ME universe as they can get. Or star wars.

Hmm, Baldurs Gate 3 anyone? Do they still have that old D&D license?

Except this action doesn't take future whole company sales into account. Who wants to buy from a company who abandons you when it's most profitable to them?

I was going to rebuy ME3 when it hit £20 but it's really not worth it now until the EC is released , if at all.

As far as I know someone else is doing Baldurs Gate 3.

Sure, some bugs won't be patched. Just look at ME1 and 2.
Some things aren't really necessary to fix, but others are, like the Liara bug(s), Ken and Gabby, all that...

Edit: Well I think Chris ended any need for my bit of speculation here. 0.0 I'm really surprised the EC is to come first. Hope they don't try and hurry it too much though.

Unfortunately, I doubt the EC will be first. Mostly likely since the other DLC's were already planned, they have already been written and conceptualized to some extent (not that I know as fact, just guessing). EC seems to be a change of plans for them so it likely has to be written and all that before they can actually start making the content. The last thing I think anyone wants is for them to rush it and fail to deliver on the ending again. So I'd say let them do some other DLC's first so they have the time to get the EC right (in terms of writing and conception). Again, speculatificating here.

I think they had a DLC planned around May, June, but I'm 99% sure they'll push it back and do the EC first. After all, their sole reason for doing the EC for free is to salvage the chance of selling any DLC or future games.

There have been 2 patches (not one as you claim) since launch and there are more to come.

There is also single player DLC (besdies the EC) and multiplayer DLC to come.

What?? Just one single player DLC? :crying:
I was hoping for more, like with ME2...

Do other DLC's with the current state the fanbase is in? Probably not wise.

My purchase of future DLC is purely dependant on the quality of the Extended Cut.

If that fails to provide a satisfying conclusion then I'm not going to spend money on other DLC that is only going to lead me again to an ending I don't enjoy.

Bioware has already said they are putting their other (at least SP) DLC plans on hold to work on the EC first. That was in Ray's original announcement.

And moreso, people have to try and be patient waiting for bug fixes. There is a lot of unanticipated work that goes into a "simple" bug fix. Fixing one bug creates more, there is a lot to the process of fixing a single bug in a game, and sometimes it's just not feasible because fixing it messes up to many other things (i.e. creates MORE or worse bugs). It's only been a month and a half! AND they are frantically (I'm sure) working on the EC. AND they are working on other DLC/Ideas/Franchises/Concepts that were already previously in the works. AND they are maintaining and working on MP Operations for those of us that actually thoroughly enjoy it. AND they've already put out 2 patches for SP.

I think they have a lot on their plate right now and I give them full kudos for working so hard on everything.

They have to let the EC come out first. So many people are up in rage about the ending that it would be pointless to buy DLC for such an atrocious ending. If EC wins the fan base back that makes it easier for them to sell DLC then for both SP & MP.

The fact that people are still around and being passionate about ME tells me that there's a lot of demand out there for more of ME, if it's good. BW know that. For the Extended Cut not to satisfy enough people would be mad because if they get it right they've brought the cash cow back to life and everyone is happy. Given what I've heard I'm not sure how they'll pull that off but I can't believe they'd be daft enough to acknowledge the displeasure with the endings and then spend time and money doing something that doesn't address it, or even adds to it. The timescale also suggests a desire to get it right.

It makes perfect sense though that any upcoming DLC will be postponed until after the EC because the EC is the key to selling enough of it.

Really? All the mods and devs on here say there's no problem, surely they wouldn't be telling lies...........?

If it's the case that its being looked into, how about an update in the EMS thread from an official source, for the non twitterers.

Cause all there is there is deafening silence on the back of a slew of porky pies.

Lets not forget the fact that some people cannot even access the GAME ITSELF from the last update, unless we unpluge our consoles from the net, enable manual EA login, and after those work arounds, log in to EA, and plug in the ethernet cable again.....i mean , WOW they fixed the import problem, which should have been fine from day 1, and made it very difficult to even access the damned game!

Thanks for that.

Be nice if the devs/community manager took even half the time you did there to post a little statement in the megathread about the issue saying it was being looked into.

Especially since they were so vocal in their "There is no EMS issue" thread locked stance before.
