I'd like to see some variety in Dog's appearence in terms of his coat's color and markings. I'm not talking about warpaint, I'm talking about his base color. All Mabari can't have the same coat colors and patterns, and it would be nice to have some choice in regards to appearnce for different characters.

I agree. Since you get to name this character I felt that you should be able to customize his appearance during character creation. There are many differing in appearance Mabari throughout the game and it would make him feel a lot more personable as a character.

I'd love to see some custom warpaint at the very minimum. Or at least a change of the fur color.

Well, I'm not going to argue with this. Dog is sadly neglected thus far.

If I thought the tools would be easy to use I'd do it myself, not trying to brag or anything but I'm a pretty damn good artist in photoshop and illistrator, so i'm sure I could come up with some decent variations.

Actually, this wouldn't require any texture editing, it could be done purely through the tint files available for other mabari hounds.

I was actually poking around in the tool set last night... But I found it very.. cumbersome to use. Not to mention I could figure out where the textures of items would be stored.

Dog's base tint file is t3_dog_o00.tnt. To change the base coat colour, you'll want to edit the value for the diffuse alpha channel:

You'll see the value for this entry is 0.632,0.368,0.168,1. This is a Vector4 value, which is RGBA, each on a scale of 0 to 1. So for this colour you get an RGB value of 161,94,43 (0.632x255=161.16, 0.368x255=93.84, 0.168x255=42.84) which is this:

So basically change this value to whatever you want your new base coat colour to be. The toolset's material editor will auto-calculate these values for you, but it's easy enough to do it manually. Just divide each RGB value by 255 (assuming you are working in 0-255 and not percentages). Then just throw it in the override folder. However, you also have to change all the warpaint tint files, as each one independently sets the base coat colour when they are equipped. You'll probably also want to change the warpaint colour itself as well, as not all coat and warpaint colour combinations will work well together. You could also use this method to remove warpaint colours altogether (by just replicating the base tint).
If you want a starting point, have a look at the black coat colour mod I posted here - http://social.biowar...71438/LP#477029
