I'm also with them being lazy and hoped what they did would be enough. I mean why would they cut this away, this is exactly what i expected to see in the misson

This reminds me of how much cut content got chopped out of KOTOR 2, really sad because it could have added so much. If it's not restored via the EC then I hope some ambitious fans put out a ME3 Restoration Project at some point in the future.

I think it's sadly doubtful unless someone has the UE3 toolkit lying around. KotOR 2 managed to get its restoration project because Obsidian slipped the original files into the PC version, from what I've seen of the ME3 files, even though we have audio, we don't necessarily have the script for the scenes.

Just another handful of proof that the ending was rushed and butchered due to time constraints

Seeing this has just refired up my anger over the whole disaster of the ending of ME3.

I'm still with they were lazy.

I dunno, I figure they had their project plan all mapped out to fit into the rather cramped deadline and at the 11th hour, some EA bigwig waded in and told them they needed to prioritise multiplayer, day one DLC and Jessica Chobot ahead of the stuff they'd planned to work on.

ME3 was a garenteed winner/hit, there was no reason to rush it. Even with it's "Ending that's not an end that undoes everything in the end" ME3 has sold millions.

When I look at those youtube clips the potential of what could have been the Earth battle makes me want to ner-rage!

PS: Not that it matters, anyone notice there's no Salarian reapers? I thought that monster on the Salarian homeworld was one, but if you take EDI she names it as some unfamiliar race. Yet the comic is full of Salarian tentacle-Reapers.

Now that I think about it..... they might have destroyed the ending on purpose and it was supposed to be a,

"Real ending, over 4000 Microsoft Point, DLC FUN!"

So they might have sabotaged the ending just to make cash......
*shrugs*
Might have rushed it all in general just for "DLC FUN!"

^^^^

Le person above, talking about a Yahg?

A heads up:

We've been told that Priority: Earth is going to remain as it is for the Extended Cut, so don't count on any of this material to actually make it into the game.

I don't think that they are necessarily going to reinstate this cut content. I suspect that they cut this content out for more reasons than simply time constraints. Some of the dialogue is a little too long and silly.

"We record a *lot* of extra VO. We don't use all of it, and by not using something- it doesn't mean there was content attached to it to cut."

I don't get it. I mean okay recording extra VO is a sound plan but why would you want to include it in the final product if it's not going to be used at all?

And did they really think we won't find these tidbits hidden in the data?

Where's Hudson? Haven't heard anything from him in more than a month. Did they fire him? Hopefully.

Here's the big a-hole of the thread.

Indeed. Casey was project director, but there were bulls*** decisions made by people higher up that he had no choice but to follow, even if he knew the final product would be a shell of what he wanted. Ease off, people. I blame the good doctors for not standing up to EA. The whole "artistic integrity" thing should have been beaten over EA's heads instead of ours.

So I slept on this and... I'm angrier than ever. Just knowing Priority: Earth was meant to be Suicide Mission-esque and all the potential that goes with it just makes me disappointed that ME3 fell so close to being brilliant. If they had got Earth right I may have even overlooked StarBrat (probably not though)
