Budget got spent on making flashy space battle instead of actual content for end game, perhaps?

The last game I remember with this much cut endgame content was KOTOR2.
I remember people mocking Obsidian, saying BioWare would never do such a thing.

And pretty much similar thing happened, it was the ending that had most/all of this cut content

At least with KOTOR2 we could add the stuff back in, we can't with ME3, we have to wait for Bioware and the chances of Bioware doing that is very slim.

Dendio1 & ShepnTali, please get this "omg Patrick Weekes is amazing and everyone else sucks" thing out of this thread. We're discussing cut content and what it means for EC, not using one developer to put others in bad light

Way to overblow it, and no. Fair game.

I suppose that was back in the days before Casey Hudson's popped collar and Blue Steel.

Well, when you put it that way I might upload it later on. I thought people knew already.

It's stuff like:
"Engaging Reaper forces"
"Initiating self-repair protocols"

Yes, please upload it Hellfire! :D Did you find anything else interesting? Any other War Assets havign some cut files from London?

*rubs chin*

I last went through them properly about a month ago but I can't remember finding anything else interesting. I'll take a quick looksie for anything I missed when I go to upload.

It supports some speculation present in this thread that at least some of the devs intended a more fleshed out priority earth. It also gives us a look into the vision of at least one developer and insight on possible extended cut material. Its one thing if they were making this stuff up from scratch, but both the link I posted and your own suggest that the material is there and just needs some restoring.

But you are free to take from it what you may. Knowledge is power.

this kind of thing just makes me think bioware were rushed by EA, they had the material so i cant see why they wouldn't put it in unless they didnt have the time, dam you EA!

Depends on what they fix.
Though Lucasarts has always been in the gutter tier of publishers.

EA +1? Possibly. But I don't think we can discount the possibility of it being future paid DLC. Atleast, until the firestorm got out of control.

More like budget got spent redoing the same scenes over to appease everyone's all important *decisions*.
To no avail of course, people still complained

This is true. Obsidian made a request for content patch but LA said no. So yes, this is indeed +1 for EA

Jack - www.youtube.com/watch
Grunt - www.youtube.com/watch

It's clear they they are taking part in the final battle o.O VERY interesting, so Bioware DID plan to show our squadmates in the final battle :o Let's hope it gets restored in EC

EDIT: Just to be clear, this ain't mine. Credit goes to our very own one and only Vertigo <3

------------------------------------

Looking at leaked script, it seems like they were also planning to have an UI (user interface) where we would be assigning our War Assets during the battle, Suicide Mission-style:

CUTSCENE:
A second Reaper fleet arrives in orbit of Earth. Harvesters start launching from the Reapers, and descend towards earth in a massive swarm.

Conversation:

Shepard / Hackett / Anderson decide to move quickly to organize a defense to hold off the Reapers in orbit from reaching the Citadel and to keep the Harvesters away from the London facility.

GUI:

Hammer resolution: summary of performance of the Hammer striketeam and casualty report.

Shield planning: assign strike teams for orbital and planetary operations to defend against the Reaper counterattack.

... and they left this out... why?

Artistic integrity.

Your statement is purely speculation.

Yes, blame the people expecting the company to fullfill their promises. After all, both parties (company and consumers) knew for years what was promised/expected. And the consumers fullfilled their end (bought the game)  but the company still failed to delivery.

Well, maybe there's still hope for the EC, since it looks like they were already planning something bigger.
I doubt that it could "fix" the non-sense since the catalyst, but at least there still could be an epic battle for the Earth! (we can always close the game before the catalyst and pretend that it was finished)
