Prototype was never good in the first place looking at its story. It's the most 90's grunge children's revenge fantasy to ever exist with a twist that manages to save it from being reprehensible because it makes you playing as a sociopathic murderer make sense.  So if it ends poorly in the sequel, whatever.

The year of bad endings, or the year of 'real ending' DLC? Both?

Oh my goddess. This seems to disturbingly close for comfort.

TW2 was released again this year, and there is no way that was a bad ending.

i don't know. one man's ****** move sinks something big and the ****-up is so great that it becomes a meme (about up there with claping and saying "congratulations") seems about right to me.

P.S. damn it angry one you beat me to it and out did me.

Ah, but it could easily be said that ME 3 is itself, an extreme example. Of quality dropping so suddenly that were it pressure in a diving suit you'd die of the bends.

All I have to say is thank god there's no new Batman game this year. I'd be having panic seizures by now.

Hopefully Rockstar got their "protagonist dies" itch out with RDR, although I must say it was done well and fit the story so I didn't mind.

I just didn't like Marston's son's voice. "Move, you dang nag!"

That is not even close to true, because 99% of the game is amazing and is arguably the best one in the series (close call between ME 3 and ME2)

I have faith in assassins creed 3 and bioshock infinite. Mainly because even if the ending was weak, I liked assassin's creed's story and gameplay more than anything else. A bad ending doesn't ruin countless hours of enjoyment for me, not even if the ending consisted of spliced footage from a serbian film and salo's 'Alaskan pipe line' scene.

As for bioshock, I already expect a a crap ending, all the games have had crap endings, but it's the journey that was fun, the parts before the ending was why I played the game. Most people forget that one of the fundamental purposes of a game is to entertain, and I have a great time playing those games.

I like the journey, so I can appreciate more games, and don't get bother by their crux's, and I feel bad others who cannot. It reminds me of talking to wrex in mass effect 2.

Shepard: "The Normandy was destroyed in a Collector surprise attack. I ended up spaced."
Wrex: "Well, you look good. Ah, the benefits of a redundant nervous system."
Shepard: "Yeah, humans don't have that."
Wrex: "Oh. It must have been painful, then."

Pft, Mac Walters could only wish to achieve the same level of paranoid, nonsensical tin-foil hattery that the Assassin's Creed series manages.

The AC series has been way out in left field since the end of AC 2 but those games are still very worth playing.  So yeah people put way too much stock into endings.

They prove that a disastrous ending ruins the whole journey.

Resident Evil's plot jumped the shark around the time of Code Veronica anyway.

There was also FF13-2.

The whole game was sh**, not just the end.

Crysis 3 better not have a bad ending. Although it seems to following the trend of Mass Effect 2 by having an epic final battle and a pants wetting ending.

WRONG. It is I, a random nobody here, who disagress with you. And it is in my meaningless opinon, which is fact, that the journey is more important, and that the endings to journies are meaningless.

It is in my subjective opinion, that the end of a journey does not matter, because all it does is mark the beggining of a new one. Going on a roadtrip and finding out the place you wanted to go sucked, you must still make a journey back to your previous destination.

Endings mean nothing because all they do is act as breaks between more journies. And it is my opinion as some guy on the internet who thinks he's right, that you are far too angry all of the time.
