4000+ EMS points not possible without Multiplayer or third party app

The simple solution is to perhaps add a zero to a few of the single digit assets. Like Conrad's thesis and Allers' interviews...

Maybe the odd one but we are so short of reaching 4000 EMS that it woud have to be a huge war asset we are all missing or loads of them that are coming up short.
Becoming a little cynical about this issue now and just can't see how it is a bug. I don't want to think that they were trying to force their SP only players into MP or into buying additional DLC content in order to achieve this extra ending but.... well I'm heading that way. Also unimpressed by the number of times that we were repeatedly told it was possible by Bioware, even though they couldn't/didn't show us how.
The closest I've got is 7167 TMS, a quick breakdown being...
Alien 973
Alliance 1630
Asari 668
Crucible 655
Ex-Cerberus 260
Geth 815
Krogan 875
Quarian 490
Salarian 168
Turian 633
Total 7167 TMS or with 50% GRS 3584 EMS
I know I've missed a couple of things but not enough to get close to 8000 TMS, and this doesn't include the Reaper asset 0f 100 TMS or 50 EMS but does include assets required from DLC (which I had all of for all three games).
So I require at least another 800+ TMS, which as I said is loads - when you consider that is the equivilant of having the Geth available twice!
All I can say is no matter what the reason for this problem with the SP game I just hope Bioware sort it out ASAP.
Personally I see no point in playing ME3 again until this and the ending are resolved - but am remaining hopeful and have just replayed ME1 (forgotten how much I love that game) and am just starting ME2 so I have a FemShep ready and waiting for this problem to be fixed and the ending DLC to be released.

I might share my numbers as well if anyone is intrested, I only did 1 play thru so don't know how much use they'd be (couldn't bring myself to do more after the ending and face import problems and then the mega blow where I found out no it's not just me unable to reach the EMS limit)
I did everything listed in the journal bar the Kasumi glitch, my Javik DLC glitched as well and I got a few negative points I ended up in the 3200 ish area of EMS I think

I know Chris Priestly said there was some (random) tweet to a fan from Mike Gamble, saying he was looking into it.
Does anyone have a link to that tweet?

I did but chris locked the thread down, it said "we are definately looking into the war assetts thing". I'll try and dig it out when my head stops pounding.

yeah I don't think it's a bug if the numbers aren't there then it's not possible, it's no more a bug than Shep not being able to fly or launch sheep at the Reapers from a medieval catapult it's just not in the code

"launch sheep at the Reapers from a medieval catapult."
Now a Shepard would never do that, would he?
Very Monty Python-esque - I like the image.
My 3602 EMS is from my one-and-only play through to date - I just can't face playing a broken-ended game, and I don't see the point before the EC comes out.
Actually, is the EC likely to be retrospective, in terms of applying to existing games, or would a new game have to be started to see the "clarification material"? This may be rhetorical, and I know it's OT, but has anyone seen anything mentioning this?

I didn't see the original tweet message either, which was why I was surprised it was referenced as "source material" in the original thread lockdown message. No idea where it was mentioned - I got the impression it was earlier in the thread but may have been a different thread altogether?
On another subject, I just noticed the description of this forum:
"This forum is for fans to help other fans with Xbox 360 related issues regarding Mass Effect 3. You must register your copy of Mass Effect 3 on Xbox 360 to post here. Evreyone can read this forum."
Em, fogive my ignorance, but does this mean it's a self-help forum or is there an official presence?

If its a bug then its likely some NG+ bonus asset or percentage bonus to assets that isn't triggering the way it should so no one is getting it. Thats the only explaination that could make any sense.
From what I've seen from other fans who have started a NG+, no assets carry over, there isn't a bonus for doing that
It would seem most likely the "bug" is in the values of some assets, or a design limitation where there are not sufficient assets to begin with.

I know that, I'm on my second playthrough right now. What I was refering to is that if it is bugged and it involved something in NG+ that that gives a bonus or special asset that its bugged in a way that whatever bonus or whatnot just doesn't show up at all, no text or anything stating its supposed to do this or that. Its a longshot but its a thought anyways. The only other thing is that if it is a bug in the assets then it would have to be a major bug for it to be off 800 to 1000 assets and you'd think they'd notice that, unless there is another way to unlock that ending and Bioware is keeping mum about how to do it (another longshot)

Hello there.
Apologies, I was coming at the issue from the perspective of a first play-through, which is all I've done and all I can comment on from personal experience.
All endings should be available from the first play-through (with sufficient assets), so any "bug" or problem should be emanating from the core game, replicated in any subsequent play-throughs.
"it would have to be a major bug for it to be off 800 to 1000 assets and you'd think they'd notice that".
You are totally, completely, 100% correct. One would like think it would have been noticed if it were a bug. What can one conclude from that?
"unless there is another way to unlock that ending and Bioware is keeping mum about how to do it".
Unfortunately for me this isn't an acceptable answer - purely because we have been informed (from various sources) that it is possible to (b)reach 4,000 EMS with single player alone. If BW are relying on DLC we need to purchase to increase the asset yield then that is obfuscation of the issue, at best. I expect to be able to achieve what I've been told I can achieve with the product I have, no ifs, buts or maybes.
Don't get me wrong, if I'm incorrect and it is possible as the game stands then all I'm asking for is a little guidance on how to do it.
Help me Bioware, you're my only hope!
Please?

As did I, the fact still stands that the game code does not have enough assets to reach 4000 EMS single player alone you need to play multiplayer or use the phone appsjpraelster93 wrote...

For the sake of argument I'm going to assume you got 8000 TMS but here's the issue (as I see it) is that you mentioned playing the DLC (+100 War Assets right). So actually you only got 7900 which is not enough for the breathe ending. Remember Bioware stated the “from ashes” DLC is supplemental only and is NOT required and also that "All” ending where achievable through SP only. The point I’m trying to make here is the disc you purchased doesn’t contain enough War Assets.
