Ahh thats another good reason. Good to see more older gamers enjoying RPGs like ME. I myself am in my 20's and enjoyed the MP a lot after beating the campaign. I had a rule to not touch MP at all till I beat it, but because of this EMS thing, I had no choice, so I played the minimum amount to raise to 100%, then went straight back to SP.
Explains your avatar too lol. Forgot his name... Admiral, Mikailovich???

Yeah - right with you on this one, 39 years young here and no interest whatsoever in online gaming!

That's great.
I actually like Multiplayer as well, but that's not the point.
Hell, when the Extended Cut is finally released I probably will have long moved on from Multiplayer, so does that mean I don't deserve the highest achievable ending even though I imported, completed every quest, scanned every planet, and handled every situation as ideal as possible?
What about those who don't have an internet connection, or even a reliable one?
What about those who don't want to pay for Xbox Live?
What about those that don't like multiplayer, even after giving it a try?
What about when the servers are shut down?
What all the promises that were made pre-release?
This could have been a minor issue that they easily (and happily) resolved to our thanks and satisfaction... oh, a month and a half ago.
Instead, they decided to handle the situation so poorly that they've lost future costumers because of it. So sad.

BioWare doesn't care, they won't address this issue as it will probably be 'fixed' with more singleplayer DLC. This was probably intentional, if not, we would've had an official statement by now (and not some crappy tweet).
A crappy tweet from Mike Gamble, which I should point out, was completely contradicted a couple days ago when he said there is no problem and that "all 3 endings are available and nothing is restricted in SP".

Yup, sorry. Here's the link to the actual twitter post.

At the end of the day all of the game's endings should be available to all users, online multiplayer shouldn't be a compulsary part of the Mass Effect universe and multiplayer should not contribute to the end of what truly is an amazing adventure with Sheperard. I personally love the online mode but it should be thought of as a storline echancer, not a storyline decider.
Honestly, this just sounds more like an EA profiteering tactic.

Same here, and I'm 50.
This game was the first online MP game I've ever played, but I loved the MP once I tried.
I do still hate the fact that it is mandatory to get access to all the endings, however.

I honestly think part of this is a flat out failure on BW's part to be clear as to exactly what was available to SP only players. Even though I know the breath scene isn't technically part of any ending, but a seperate cutscene(like Stargazer, which needs NG+ or an import to fire) that doesn't change the fact that BW wouldn have been better off to say there was a unique cutscene that could be found after playing MP. People would have been pissed, sure, but knowing going in might have mitigated some of the issues.
On a related note, there's been some noise being made regarding next gen consoles requiring a dedicated internet connection at all times as well as games being hard locked to one console and/or one gamertag/PS equivalent- in order to kill the used game market.

"Even though I know the breath scene isn't technically part of any ending, but a seperate cutscene..."
I'm afraid the breath scene is part of an ending - the official game guide cleary sets out the conditions required to achieve the "lives" endings", the 4,000/5,000 EMS and action/no-action taken in the finale. The guide also states clearly that all possible scenarios for ending can be achieved with SP only.

Hey there Ravennus - thanks for the link to that twitter post.

I take it from this then that BW's official stance is that there is not a problem afterall?
Also this http://twitter.com/#...912559911022594 answers a question I posed a while back - that the tech forums are indeed for fans to help fans. And that's where we were shunted when the official EMS thread was locked? Why? We already had fan help in that mega thread - to hack the game. Are BW content to leave that as the answer to this?
Great post you put http://social.biowar...ndex/11763105/5, very well said, summed up perfectly my thoughts and feelings:
Ravennus wrote...
Oh, I know that has been the description of the tech forum for a long time.... however, it's also been an unspoken fact for years that Bioware has looked to those forums for potential bugs and even posted to them on various occasions.
But with Mr. Priestly tweeting what he did, to a fan likely inquiring about the Face Import/EMS threads being locked and moved, we can essentially determine a few points...
1) They are washing their hands of the matter.
Hey, at least the Face Import issue got a (insufficient) patch before being tossed into the tech forums.
We haven't even had proper acknowledgment... and no, a private twitter comment to a single fan does not count.
Even worse, Mike Gamble is now essentially tweeting "Be happy with what you get"
So no, you are not addressing the issue or looking into it.
Forcing us into seperate tech support forums and then also saying...
"The tech forums are for fans to help fans as it says in the description. Official support is not on the BSN"
...tells us that you have no interest in officially supporting this issue.
2) They are basically telling us to "L2P" (Learn to Play)
As he reiterates on Twitter, the tech forums are for fans to help fans. So is he saying that we are doing it wrong? That it's up to other fans to help us to play the game properly and get the necessary War Assets without multiplayer or iOS apps?
Sure seems that way to me.
This is pretty much exactly what they've told the Face Import people too, except in their case they are directing them to other fans who can fix their issue through mods and fan fixes. *sigh*
3) EA/Bioware is not listening
They herd everyone into a mega-thread on the issue, locking down all others.
Then they lock down the mega-thread and force everyone to seperate into the different tech support forums.
Forums which they say are simply user-to-user and are not officially supported.
Would they do this if they were listening? No
Actions speak louder than words, guys.
Oh, but have they even given us some solid acknowledgement that they even think this is an issue?
Nope, not even that.
Before anyone (or even Chris himself) jumps on me.... yes, much of this is speculation.
But what else are we left with?
You won't talk to us, you won't acknowledge the issue in a proper way, and you won't listen to us. What are we left to think?
**Sigh**

Don't think that the whole locking one game to one console/gamertag seems very smart - I understand the thinking behind it but feel that all it will actually do is damage their initial sales.
I mean a lot of people pre-order games, play them, don't enjoy them and then trade them in for the next new game. If that is no longer possible won't people just wait for the price of the game to drop before they buy it. Personally all it would do to my purchasing is make me wait for the price to fall right down so I don't mind so much if I don't like the game and have no way of selling it on.
On a good note though it could cause the price of games to drop, especiaaly if the initial releases dont sell so well - guess only time will tell.
Back to the issue in hand though and I am personally feeling very disillusioned with Bioware - mixed messages on this subject - no idea if they are actually looking into it.
Why is it such a big deal for them to just come out and talk to us... are we really that scary? or are they just not bothered about keeping their SP players?

Rumors the xbox 720 will have anti-used game thing in place. Meaning even if I legitimately borrow a game from a friend, (Not buying used from GameStop etc.) I won't be able to play it at all! Wtf.
As for the constant net connection, I don't think that will happen, but the anti-used thing is more likely.

the constant connection is probably more likely than anti used IMO
more than likely they will both go hand in hand as you need an always on internet to verify if a game is used

Hmmm.. This probably will not work out well... if this actually happens I personally will only buy AAA games that "I know" are committed to delivering on their product. I wouldn’t really be all that interested in hearing that content got cut for time-constraint reasons. If this version of ME3 got released during that age of gaming...I’d be done with Bioware and EA. Studios want to be paid for their product and if I spend my money I want the game to be worth it. This also goes hand and hand.

Yeah another thread lockdown "we are looking into it" post - seriously how can it take so long to know what assets are in the game.
The fact that they have to look into it and don't know seems a very bad sign to me. Can't believe they don't have a list somewhere...
