I don't...I don't understand. How can you extol the virtues of Proxmine's weakening effect but condemn Cryo Blast in the same paragraph? Cry Blast's weakening effect is almost twice as potent as Proxmine's, and it tracks targets. It also freezes unprotected targets solid, slows others and weakens armour. It's an amazing skill. I love Proxmine, but I'd take Cryo Blast over it any day.

As for the worst skill, Shockwave. Slam would be worse if it were in multiplayer, but it's not, so Shockwave.

I know, but proximity mine also has the ability to take out entire mobs even in Gold. It deals more immediate damage, almost as much as a maxed out grenade. Maybe I underestimate cryo blast, but the mine is definetly more effective. Shockwave isn't that bad... I mean, at least it detonates. It's not really worth it though, unless you're a human adept.

I think if someone plays Bronze all powers can be usefull.
But for gold the most useless power is shockwave and tech-armor. They dont do anything on gold.

The problem with Cryo Blast is that it's stuck on classes that have arguably better powers, or have powers that do not synergize well with it.
Quarian Engineers have a toss up between Incinerate, Cryo and Sentry.
Human Infiltrators have Sticky Grenades that dole out sheer damage without requiring 6 points invested into an upgrade that won't break Tactical Cloak.

Me? I can't decide between Shockwave and Stickies.

Shockwave because it's really only useful against unshielded enemies and causes too much screen shake. It does cause biotic explosions, but biotic classes usually pick something else for detonates.

Stickies....I can sing all day about the virtues of landing armor-piercing stickies on armored targets (and it's awesome when they do) but as long as internet latency exists, it's possible to entirely miss an Atlas. As long as that problem exists, Stickies aren't too useful with their existing blast radius.

You do realise that from properly specced cryo blast you get 25% more dmg to everything and 25% armor weakness, and from proxy mine you just get 20% more dmg? Cryo blast also slows targets and freezes mobs that are left with health only.


He probably prefers proximity mine because it does direct damage in aoe at that. Now 20% plus that makes it amazing.


 Yeah problem is that proxy mine cant even kill a husk on gold, and cryo blast allows you much greater cc, and lets u escape from sticky situations and revive teammates safely without having to kill everything in sight.

Tech Armour is actually a net increase in damage if you take the proper evolves and have high recharge from weapons. It also gives you better survivability.

Shockwave would fine if not for rank four Radius evolution being bugged on PC, causing the wave to have no force or damage properties.

I think the most borderline power I've used pull, or maybe sticky grenade. Proximity mines kind of annoy me as well, when trying to actually use them as mines since they can become inactive without disappearing from wherever you placed them.

Edit: singularity definitely ranks up there. Seems like Bioware have been terrified of that power ever since it was widely considered so useful in ME1.

It's still more damage and survivability than doing a 0/6/6/6/6 build vs a 6/6/6/5/3 on Human or Turian Sentinel.

It's not spectacular, but I don't see why people are so against it when it's both better ability damage and survivability.

No one said it was spectacular, but it's far from the utterly useless power people are claiming it to be.  As far the the Asari Justicar passive goes, classes that have Tech Armor don't have Asari Justicar as a choice (and even if they did I don't see how it would replace the TA power damage bonus).

They also seem to be completely forgetting the 700+ aoe damage aspect which isn't amazing or anything, but can be useful at times on a power spammer.

lol singularity just got buffed

Singularity Power
- Base duration that enemies are held in the air increased from 4 to 6 seconds
- Base singularity duration increased from 15 to 25 seconds
- Evolution 3 damage per second increased from 20 to 50
- Evolution 4 recharge speed bonus increased from 30% to 35%
- Evolution 6 detonation damage increased from 300 to 500
- Evolution 6 detonation radius increased from 5 meters to 7 meters

Immediate thought was shockwave. I've never rated that power, but in ME3 it is awful.

But lift grenades are definitly in there too. Maybe all grenades, except cluster which are amazing fun. 

I have to choose one? Grenades still tempt me a little so ... Shockwave. Useful only for.... ... Nah, I got nothing.

Grenades or other such items that give you limited uses are without a doubt the worst. I have been avoiding even leveling up those “powers” to get higher rankings in something I can use more than 2 or 3 times per wave.

So did proximity mine, so it should be easier to use now.

I noticed they buffed the Hurricane and reduced recoil as well. I wonder if it's actually useful now?
