How to harden Leliana? Does it change any approval rating or effect your relationship with her? Thank you guys in advance!

After you do her personal quest, encourage her to accept being a Bard.

It helps if in her personal quest, you show no mercy and then talk to Leiliana about how it was the right thing to do. Don't want to ruin it for you if you haven't done it yet.

No I have beaten the game already you wont ruin it I would like some more explanation I done a conversation with her telling her not to run away is that right?

When you have a conversation, in camp, after her personal quest you're given several options.  One options is to encourage her to embrace her kindness.  The other is to encourage her to embrace being a Bard and the violence.

The Bard one is the choice for hardened.

Kill Marjolene (sp?) and just as Taleroth and Draetor said, in a firm but not snotty way tell her to give into the darkness she feels, the satisfaction of the kill, etc.

Killing Marjoleine isn't necessary, for the record.

And by "for the record," I mean "I could totally be wrong, but I like sounding authorative."

lol Taleroth.

I like the role playing impact killing Marj has, and it opens different dialogue options, but I have no way to gauge how much more or less hardening it has.

You'll know if she's hardened at the very end before you walk out the door to the end credits.



If she's in her Chantry Robes, she's not hardened.



If she's in armor, she's hardened.

It'll likely impact her ending.  If you never bother with her quest, she wants to seek the ashes.  If you do her quest and leave Marjoleine alive, she's going to seek closure with Marjoleine.  If you do her quest and kill Marjoleine.... I don't know, but I imagine it's back to the ashes.
