I think most people, myself included, didn't use the power because the range on it was pitiful. Now that the range is better it will be useful.


3 meters is not pitiful, nevermind that it...
-Hit through light cover.
-Conveniently caused significantly collateral damage while whittling down bosses.
-Is excellent for setting off tech bursts by yourself as an infiltrator, especially a Salarian Infiltrator.
-Can "double-hit" enemies without actually exposing yourself to them at all.
-Debuffed enemies in an area nicely.
-Did significant damage.
-Synergized very well with cloak and high damage weapons.
-Was on two of the most powerful classes in the game and was definitely NOT a dump ability.
-Can be used as a mine.

Giving it an extra 1.5 meter range is fairly significant.  Definitely more significant than the piddly bonuses they give to horrible weapons.  Now it'll be getting me even more free kills and bursts than before.

I agree. No need to buff proxy mines. It was already one of the best powers in the game.

The Geth Infiltrator was already God-like in the right hands. Now it's gonna be ridiculous.


It's a slight increase in radius. You make it sound like they replaced it with a nuke.

To be fair, it had the radius of a Sticky. As far as explosion radius goes, Stickies are pretty bad.

It's not like it's suddenly Biotic Explosion huge. Besides, I thought everyone liked the idea of clearing waves faster?

A 50% buff to the BASE value, which means that the radius upgrade you already should have been taking gives you more, too.

Alternatively, you could now switch to the damage upgrade and have the same 3 meter radius as before.  Even if you don't want to measure the difference in effectiveness of 3m vs 4.5m, you could just as easily think of it in terms of it having the same radius as before yet being 30% more damaging.  They certainly weren't buffing the utterly awful weapons like the Incisor by that much.

But apparently they decided that the Geth and Salarian Infiltrators were the ones who really needed some more oomph.  :huh:

What I don't get is why they are buffing Proximity Mine while Lift Grenade needs it 1000 times more. The Proximity Mine buff isn't game breaking or anything, but come on, there are powers that need a lot of help and they are buffing powers that are perfectly good already...

So yeah, the Hurricane is actually a controllable weapon at ranges beyond arm's reach on non-turians now.

And I really don't understand the Proximity Mine buff either.

I agree the Wraith needs a buff however, it's really is appalling at the moment - especially considering the N7 rarity.

This is an interesting point.  For whatever reason they buff weapons with roughly 10% intcrements but will give massive buffs to powers, even powers that don't really need it at all.   In my opinion, Concussive Shot didn't need a 25% damage buff either.  I already often own scoreboards with my CS spam Soldier as it is.

Yeah, I'll second (errr, actually looks like about "fifth") the comments on Wraith vs. Eviscerator. I'm surprised they didn't link those. The Wraith should have gotten the weight reduction buff, too. Improving weight on that gun would be one way to distinguish it and make it a higher usage shotgun.

The buffs to singularity are cool, but it's still just a better Pull.

singularity base hold duration is 3 secs.

update says:
Singularity Power
- Base duration that enemies are held in the air increased from 4 to 6 seconds

yes i restarted the game, the detonation evolution says 500 damage like it supposed to according to the update.

can someone else look and verify my claim too?
either that or explain slowly in small words so i understand why i am seeing it wrong.

Seems like the soldier buffs are continuing. Being able to spam Marksmen more is always nice. Has anyone tried the hurricane yet? How much of a recoil reduction did it get? Is it actually useful now?

If they keep up the buff-only approach they are going to need to make a Platinum diificulty soon.  They are basically creating more and more builds that can own on Gold, and that's making Gold incrementally easier, especially with PuG's using random builds and weapons.

Now they buffed one of the reasons the Geth Infiltrator is so awesome. I'm not overreacting when I say proxy mines is one of the best abilities in the game.

And they added 1m to the base impact radius. Which means that you get an even larger radius when you spec for it.

I will test it, but I rather doubt it.  My problem with the Hurricane was never with the recoil... I could easily compensate for that (or just use a stability mod).  It was that even after using up that extra little bit of mental effort or consumable, I was still getting **** for damage compared to the alternatives.

  Damn straight it's that good.  I've seen my Claymore/Melee/Proximity Mine GI get more than twice the score of the entire rest of the team combined repeatedly.  Sure they were terrible PuG players who had no business on Gold, but still, carrying such bad players for 20-odd minute runs (not on FBW/G) is not insignificant.  I've seen it solo in record time, too.  I almost feel guilty playing the damn thing, and that was before the first time they buffed it (by giving it Melee Amps).

And a keystone power for all that just got buffed more significantly than things which are outright horrible.

SIngularity is still useless. Rank 6 Detonation buffs AND a duration increase? Haha...you expect people to leave their Singularity there for 25 seconds just to get it to detonate?
