April 24 Multiplayer Balance Changes

As everyone knows, Concussive Shot isn't very strong. It's really nice to get some increase to base damage, but it might not be worthwhile until Evolution 6 Amplification is fixed to work every time. I'd also like to see some area of effect on C. Shot even without an upgrade, and for the upgrade to simply expand that area.
I like the idea of increasing Adrinaline Rush's base weapon damage bonus, because it acknowledges that the Human Soldier isn't doing enough damage. However, buffing A. Rush isn't the best way. Instead, increase the passive weapon damage bonus from Alliance Training. Maybe not an increase the generic weapon damage, but add assault rifle-specific damage bonuses of 7.5% and 10% to Evolutions 1 and 6, respectively, to go along with the generic weapon damage. That way you'll address the biggest complaints about both Soldiers and their class-related weapon.

Another miniscule power buff for Soldiers. The problem is that the class is not as power dependent as other classes. So put the buffs where they matter the most, passive weapon bonuses. Tacking on another 5% or so in each of the weapon skills will make the class stand out as superior with weapons.
Agreed. I've said this before.
If the other human races like adepts and engineers get the same opportunity to increase weapon damage by the same amount via passives..compared to a soldier...it's sad. Very sad.

So, the singularity changes were pointless.
You want to make singularity/human adepts a semi decent choice? Make it so that the detonation "500 damage" actually goes off when you self biotic detonate it, rather than just have it run out. The raw group damage you would get from that, might make it worth the time you have to spend stripping shields.
It should also detnoate when you cast a new Singularity. That might almost make it playable on Gold. Almost.

But is there any chance we will see Assault Rifles get some extra base armor penetration?
They're rifles after all... not peashooters.

Ridiculous because they added 1m radius to the explosion? Come on, stop overreacting.
50% increase in radius = 237.5% increase in Area of Effect

Managed to kill a phantom, a centurion, a nemesis and a trooper while spamming them at an atlas.

Yes, I found a reason to complain; But the other buffs are nice. Proximity Mine wasn't necessary, in my opinion, but that doesn't bother me much.
Thanks BioWare!

It's been a while since I've studied geometry, but shouldn't that be a 237.5% increase (for a total of 337.5% of the original volume) to the AoE?OniGanon wrote...

50% increase in radius = 225% increase in Area of Effect

Anyone knows how Bioware sees which weapons/powers need to be buffed/nerfed? Do they just look at raw usage numbers? What would make them think to buff one of the better abilities in the game, on two of the most powerful classes in the game? Or to buff an uncommon shotgun to be stronger than the N7 rarity equivalent of the same shotgun? I'm just confused by these changes...
They target underpowering weapons and abilities and try to make them better.
However, Bioware only abides with babysteps, so they only buff them a tiny bit at the time, and often keep themselves with only a limited selection of weapons at a time.

Ah, you're quite right.
I was thinking 2-dimensionally.
And even then I should've written 125% increase and not 225%.
I've edited the post.

- on a turian soldier built for accuracy//stability (damage barrel and scope ) - its deadly (ranged headshots kind of deadly - also has enough DPS to kill with body shots (like autos should)) .. Deadlier than the Revenant (the low clip is annoying)...Still it would probably work best with extended clip (default 40 its too low) and stability from consumable ....And the turian respecced for rof instead of stability ...
-on a human engineer it finally felt better than tempest X -> ...

Why not fix all the useless weapons, and fix them properly?
I wonder this after every round of balance changes. The Viper hasn't gotten one buff since the game came out, and it's outclassed massively as a sniper rifle by a freaking pistol. The Incisor finally gets a buff, but it's only around a 10% damage buff. The Arc Pistol got a buff last week, but there's still no reason to ever use it over a Carnifex or a Phalanx. The Wraith is still hot garbage for an N7. Many of the AR's and SMG's are still sub-par despite minor buffs here and there. The list goes on and on. I really don't get what BW thinks is balanced, and honestly I'm not sure if they even know.

And Atheosis: I respectfully disagree with that comment, the Arc Pistol is very much usable over those two, at least to me. It's around about as good as the carnifex with practice, but I'll admit that the weight of it still makes the other two a far more appealing option. I'd say a slight weight decrease and a 2.5% damage increase could solve the issues.

Eric, have you been told that adrenaline rush is still bugged to not give 100% shields back? When used, it only gives around 40-45% to the user.
It isn't bugged. It doesn't restore shields, it INCREASES your maximum shields by 100%. 100% of your base shields. So, if you have Fitness maxed you'll have 825 + 500 = 1325 shields. That's why it looks like it "refills" roughly 40% of your shields.

The Arc Pistol is the worst gun in the game.

Well to be fair, it would make less sense if they only applied to one platform.
But, that's not the case.
The balance changes and patches are usually across all platforms, the only changes that would be different would be system specific bugs and glitches.

And still no buff for Cryo Blast/Cryo Explosion. WHY?!
Why do you want a buff for such a useful power?
