I've been trying to troubleshoot this issue for two days now.  I had 6 attempts to talk with tech support on live chat and have had no luck at all.  The issue is the game opens fine, plays the bioware/ea little movie and goes to "press any key to begin."  I hit a key and it goes to the main menu, then a thing pops up saying connecting to EA servers.  This usually works ok, then it says "searching for downloadable content" and usually right then, or after this occurs when the text starts to scroll on the ticker on the right of the screen my entire system freezes.  My mouse and keyboard become unresponsive and nothing moves on the screen, though the sound from the game continues to play like normal.  I have tried multiple reinstalls and tricks found on these forums.  I have also tried many things suggested by the live chat support with no success.  The only thing that was even somewhat helpful was opening the game to that first screen "press any key..." and then disabling my wireless network so i'm not connected to the internet.  When i continued then it did not attempt to connect to servers and allowed me to almost get into a single player game but then it froze during a cutscene movie.

I have a 27in iMac running Windows XP SP3 on Bootcamp.  ATI Radeon HD 5750 1GB, 3 GB RAM.  Quad-core Intel i5 2.8 GHz.

Please help!  Thanks.

an update to this. I reinstalled the game and did not update to the most recent patch. I tried the game and it got through the main menu but crashed with the error message: your video driver has stopped responding after clicking a few buttons. The result was a crash to desktop but my entire desktop was contained in a 6 inch by 7inch box in the middle of my 27inch monitor.
