The New Survey

Just like any other popular product, be it a book, movie, or videogame,
we've gone out and made a sequel because that's how you make the big
bucks! Our follow up to the smash hit 'Mass Effect 3 Ending: Towards A
consensus' poll has finally been released. We just launched it this
evening and we would really appreciate ME3 fans of any and all opinions
to fill one out for themselves. You can find the new survey HERE.

In brief, this follow up survey is structured to reflect the results of
the first survey, which highlighted that the majority of respondents
thought that the major issues of concern re the current ME3 ending are:

• Major decisions irrelevant (Council, Rachni, Collector Base);
• The Catalyst itself; and,
• Major themes of series seem forgotten during the ending.

It also provides an opportunity to flesh out these major issues,
and to cross reference these with the other issues from the first
survey.

The idea of two surveys is so there's a reasonably transparent path from
collating the issues to determining the strength of the issues and then
to principles for how to address those issues. Survey and Report 1 was
the collating and determining; this survey and its report is to refine
the results so far and to get to the principles.

The results of this current survey will be analysed and then
incorporated with the previous results into a final report. The final
report will be made available publicly and supplied to Bioware as a
genuine attempt to assist them in creating downloadable content and any
future Mass Effect based games.

Bump up - Please do this survey folks. What ever messages we can get to Bioware via the final report really need a good turn out for the survey. The encouragement and support so far have been fantastic - just need these last few yards!! Many thanks

Thanks folks - and please try and spread the word! I only have the first half hour or so results to play with at the moment (69 surveys done) - but it's really looking interesting and I'm very hopeful that some clear and even more importantly - useful messages will come through. One of the important things we were trying to tease out is the if this then that stuff that can be really useful in making decisions about directions to head and how to approach things. To be frank I was concerned that these trends might not show - but even with so few results at this early juncture - I feel much more confident. So again - please spend even just a minute pushing this barrow. The support and encouragement from BSN has been absolutely vital in keeping ofish and I ticking over on this. So thanks again!

I do have a question which probably is silly, but anyway, I can't complete the survey otherwise.

I'm sorry, I do not fully comprehend this part. 

Does it mean e.g. "Yes, BW, I think it's OK with just an explanation"
or ..?…again I'm sorry, I can't seem to get get a grip on that particular part.

Sorry for the lack of clarity - err no pun intended! Basically yes it means what you suggest - if you agree or disagree with this as an approach to improve the Catalyst aspect of the ending. The answers aren't mutually exclusive - so just rate that one where you feel. Hope this helps?

Thanks for that! BTW - for the first survey there were 84 respondents from Australia and 13 from New Zealand. I'm hoping we can crack the ton for the Aussies and get to 25 for the Kiwis for this one - so let 'em know!! Many thanks again

I do think it's important, whether you liked the game or not, to participate in stuff like this. This is exactly how you prevent one zealous group from casting a misrepresentation on the entire fan base.

No, no, no, no, no, please do not blame yourself for my  confusion. I am the one to blame. I am in an awful lot of pain in my body today, and having severe brain cramps atm --- so I shouldn't be online at all, actually, I should be in bed (straight, w/o passing Go!)
But I really ,really wanted to do this survey.

Thanks everyone - great effort so far... now ... musttt.... keeep goinggg......

Mad_yojik: To tell the truth I wasn't utterly devastated by the ending ... felt a bit flat is probably the best description. Then as I thought back over it, I gradually started to accumulate a list of things in my head: hang why did.... how did.... what did that really have to do with .... and the rest, as they say, is history.

I've said it many times - I have no qualm with whether I like the ending - but I have a lot of difficulty with accepting that the ending is the same conceptually qualitatively artistically - and a whole bag full of other adjectives - as the preceding 60 + hours of ME1, ME2 and ME3 up to that point.
