Unpredictable Teleporting

I utilize my rogue often to scout out an area while the rest of the group holds up in a safe spot.  In addition to scouting my rogue also sets up traps in strategic locations.  So what is the problem?

1. IF at any point while performing the sweep my rogue comes into a 'video triggering area' the entire group suddenly teleports to that spot - which usually has hordes of NPCs waiting to pounce on them.   All the preparation with traps wasted, any strategic advantage I was working to have - gone.

2. Similar to the first point, the same thing occurs even without a video trigger.  If my rogue is too far from his group who are holding their position, the moment I click 'un-hold' the group can sometimes teleport right to where my rogue is located.

Forget about the lack of realism of this occurring, but how can something like this that greatly diminishes the game's strategic depth be overlooked?  So much emphasis on tactics, positioning of characters etc and yet somehow this is accepted or not noticed by anyone?

Sounds like the stay together thingie (no idea what the devs call it). It's where your NPC gets stuck far behind, and instead of having to run back and extricate them, they just pop up to where you're at. Odd that it would occur when you have them on Hold Position. That def should be fixed.

Most of the cutscenes have placeholders for whatever members are in your party at the time, so when they start up, if they're in you're party, they're going to show up and not get put back.

The only real thing I can recommend is don't scout so far ahead until perhaps they can fix this.

I should have mentioned that point #1 occurs anytime there is a video trigger but #2 occurs in larger areas when the distance is greater between my rogue and the others of the group.

Yeah sure there should be alot of realism... like ffs there is no such things as mana nor spells nor there is such armor that makes fire burn you less. Then saving game is very stupid. I mean you can't save the game in real life and if you die the character should be permanently dea and you shouldn't be able to start all over again.

Make rogue your main if he/she isn't.
Make a party of only your rogue.
Go and put traps to the whole map if you wish ( in stealth).
Later on just go and get your party.

There is also the thing that you can't trap redcliff battlefield before you start the acctual defending event.
Not being able to put traps everywhere is a good thing. It is nice that you can't stack up traps to kill the whole waves of monsters.:alien:

Yeah, like I said, it sounds like you're running afoul of the NPC getting stuck fix thingamajiggy.

Don't scout so far ahead.
