I'm currently specced into damage. Does that damage bonus apply to melee as well as weapons/powers?
Yup, it's an extra +10% damage with everything... weapons, powers, melee, etc
The damage bonus you get from Hunter Mode is across the board.
I've tried Rank 6 with both, and to my tastes... I liked the speed and range better personally.
I didn't find the extra 10% to really be needed for the melee damage, as I can disintigrate a Geth Pyro in two pulses in Gold with or without it.
If I used my weapon more, and carried a really powerful one (like GodlessPaladin's Claymore build) it would definitely be more noticiable.... but currently I'm just using a Phalanx X.
It also adds to the Prox Mine damage, but if you really want to boost Power Damage, you are better off to skip Rank 6 and just go 3 ranks in Networked AI.
You'll get 5% weapon damage (10% if Geth weapon), +15% power damage, and extra weight capacity.
Of course, you can do both.... as GodlessPaladin's build, by dropping Rank 6 in cloak.... but I use that a lot, so *shrug*
