The devs listened to their fans. I mean seriously, ME1 fans didn't want elevator rides. So we got loading screens. They didn't want the Mako. So we got the hammer head. In ME 2 they didn't want the hammer head so they ditch planet exploration. There's a bunch of things the fans didn't want and BW catered to them the best they can. Fans are the reason somethings are just not right with ME3. So for now own I'm just going to blame the fans for every flaw I noticed.

Even the ending?

no not the ending, but some things.

like what?

Like no planet exploration. since ME1 some of the fans complained about the Mako that got cut. So then we got the hammer head, some fans didn't like that. so they complained and so the hammerhead was cut. by time ME3 the dev probebly didn't know what would make people happy so over by time production they said screw it and gave us nothing. My point is some people here just complain about one thing and when the devs try to fix it, they complain about the fix.I not trying to defend BW hell no that's not what I trying to do. But I just think sometimes we just should be happy for what we go in the beginning.

P.S.
In no way are the fans to blame about that ending.

Yeah I see your point some of the fans here have such Toxic views.

Well if Bioware try to blame fan feedback for why they stripped down and largely stripped out the dialogue wheel i woudl find that hilarious. A) i don't think it is true as dialogue wheel has been praised repeatedly and B) even if some people gave feedback on improvements they felt could be made to it i don't remember a swath of people advocating stripping it down and replacing it with auto-dialogue. That's the logical equivalent of my friend telling me he is hungry, so i chop of his right hand and feed it to him.

Not finished in the playthrough yet, but I find myself drifting off or being distracted when longer auto dialogue comes up, often missing the scene entirely.

That was one of the main problems regarding the auto-dialogue, many a time I was expecting a prompt, just like the previous games, and Shep would go off a long, winded conversation with whoever he was speaking to and I'd lose interest. All too often I would be saying "Why is Shep being nice to him/her when I don't like that character" and "Why is he being a d**k to this guy/gal when I like him" etc etc.

After playing ME 1 and ME 2 recently, I can't describe how better they handled the scenes and conversations in them. Mass Effect 3 is so generic compared to them.

It's a pityful end to what was preceded by a great game (ME1) and a very good one (ME2).

Finished now. My perspective isn't so harsh on ME 3 as I enjoyed the experience.

You however summed the dialogue up close to my own perspective, putting it well :).

In ME 1 the renegade I played, was a xenophobic human who killed aliens that threatened alliance superiority. The council, voting for terra firma, etc. In ME 2 after being left for dead, he mellowed a bit having to work with so many aliens, even made some grudging allies, but he slowly lost the alliance streak and became more and more a hired killer type through the story. From Auto Dialogue in ME 3 my twice rogue ruthless Shep, was shaking hands and complimenting people he'd gleefully slaughtered for 80 hours of gameplay, hundreds of thousands of them in one DLC. :D

I have no idea. It was another HUGE and disappointing step down.

ME1 had an above-average RPG plot with some good twists and drama. ME2 was completely pointless and couldn't drive the trilogy's plot foward AT ALL and sometimes was just outlandishly bad (Human Reaper...really?), but it is my favorite game out of the series.
I always thought the ME series could have been set like this (to make ME2 worth something):
Shepard fights recylcers (oops, I mean collecters) and learns that they actually work for "the reapers" after effectively destroying their base; ME1 plot with certain changes to fit the context with the realization that the reaper threat is real (gasp!);  a more fleshed out Arrival dlc to give the reapers more lore and set stage for invasion; ME3 with heavy changes

Back on topic though, i hated how ungratifying it was to talk to squadmates after missions; my entire crew was comprised of Zaee/ Kasumi-esque one liners with no dialogue trees or a cinematic view.

The crew dialogue is pretty much like the first two with the addition of the Zaeed/Kasumi in game banters. Each character has an investigate wheel, which granted is only active once and then dissappears and several dialgoue scenes including things like the citadel visits. The addition of the non-cinematic dialogue seems to have been an addition to gain shipmate perspective and prevent things like "calibrations". The point being that if you compare the number of sqadmate dialogue scenes per individiual they are pretty close.
