No,  you can't park your kids in front of Dragon Age.

I would have considered using such an option had it been there. This is 20/20 hindsight though, since the topic comes up the day after my son appeared behind me while I was playing - and of course it was during a cut-scene involving a desire demon and a possessed templar.

Anyway, I don't mind the depiction. I like it, in fact. But I did mind my young son seeing it. I don't blame Bioware for not having the option, but having the option provides a feature that some may find useful.

Just because there's a wave of anti-prudism amongst the forum fauna doesn't mean the option should require community justification. It's just a request - and Bioware can weigh it for possible inclusion on their to-do list.

So, just out curiosity, why not let the request stand as posted?

The point here is that putting that feature in would bring in many more complaints about it not working right: you're not asking to fully clothe a very partially exposed purple semi-human, you're asking for the devs to make it so that your children can watch you play the game.
And what we're saying is that there are many more issues that prohibit your children from watching the game, including: in-underwear same or opposite sex scenes, decapitations, massacres, explosions, conversion of kids into monsters, lots of blood, immolations, etc...
Aren't those worse than seeing a very partially exposed purple semi-human?

Its not the violence or sex that I feel makes this game truly 17+

Its simply not the type of game for kids, city elf origin has rape, human noble origin has a dialogue option - "after this ill kill ur wife and daughter", bloody politics on dwarf noble origin, ability to kill people with little 'moral' consequence.

What I'm trying to say is that the theme itself - its not for kids.

Altough I'm not against having an option to "hide" things, it is not Bioware's fault if your son catches you playing the game (and you don't notice it??). If the game has things you consider he should not see, you should make sure that in the first place he never has the chance. Also, as I said, I'm not against an option to "hide" but I'd prefer the parents taking responsability of knowing when to talk to their sons/daughters. They are persons too, just in need of some guidance and maturity development (never too soon for it).

While I understand the OP's concern of not having his presumably very young son seeing too much skin in DA:O, he can see alot more on the beach, billboards, the sides of buses, on pretty much any TV channel at any time of the day etc.

I guess you could keep him in doors and blindfold him when he leaves the house. Prudence aside I would be more concerned about my kid seeing the decapitations, blood and violence associated with the game.

It would be cool for someone to create a desire demon mod wearing a nun's outfit. How about a school girl sailor outfit? W00t!

And/or the rather evil decisions I make in the game!!!!

The reason I posted the question of censorship was primarily because I do not want others in my household to see it. I know many of you do not understand the concerns others and myself have regarding this and I am not going to explain it. Whether or not the toolset can change this will be a determining factor in whether or not I get the game. I hope it does because the game looks incredible. It also looks like a game I would be replaying for years to come.

Well rear end, as both a father myself and as a player, I just have to conclude that it's not for kids. My daughter is only 5 months old, so its fine but in the future I would lock the door.

The nudity of desire demons pales in comparison to the general theme of the game that I would not allow my daughter to play. But if you truly wish to mod it yourself, I do believe that it is possible. However I doubt most modders will spend their spare time on it.

The desire demons aren't actually nude, are they? It's been a while since I saw one in game, since they don't pop up all the time, but I recall them wearing (albeit skimpy) bikini-esque clothes. They were NOT naked.

Rear End, if you're worried about someone else in your household getting a hold of this game and seeing things they shouldn't, may I recommend you look into some sort of password protect program to limit access to these types of games? The game IS incredible, but I frankly don't think the desire demons are around enough or naked enough to be a deciding factor in the purchase. You can go a long, long time without seeing one. But, ultimately, it's your decision. :)

No they aren't, see for yourself:

Yes, it is a tad more revealing then Morrigan's Robes. -> *SPOILER* for the comparison. But not nude, more like a tease.

Btw only time you ever see Desire Demons is during Stone Prisoner DLC and Mage Tower.

Desire demons get about 5 minutes or fewer of face time (as it were) in a 80+ hour game. The OP is saying he won't play the game unless he can cover them up; other people are saying Desire Demons are the least of his problems.

You should listen to them OP. If you're worried about what people in your household might see, desire demons really are the least of your problem.

There is no nudity in the game, I wouldn't even classify it as partial nudity. You see nothing in the game you wouldn't see on a public beach, suitable for children. Heck, you see even less in the game than you would taking a quick stroll down to the store in summer.

Even though the level of "nudity" is acceptable for young ones, the game is not however. It has many dark themes to it.

You guys are pathetic. Just because he happens to not want to deal with the partial nudity does not mean that you all have to berate him. So he has some kind of standards, you don't have to understand them, but at least be decent human beings and respect it on some level. So there are other aspects of the game that are more disturbing/adult, everyone is affected by different things in different ways. And don't even start up with the age-old "you have an issue with nudity but not violence?" crap. Honestly. Violence can be justified (especially in this game) when you are fighting to save the lives of others. There is nothing wrong with being offended by the partial nudity presented in this game, I personally wish that Bioware had avoided it. I almost didn't buy the game because of it. The only reason I did was because it was a demon, and not complete nudity, but I am still not happy about it. Please, if you are "enlightened" enough to be perfectly fine with nudity, allow us who are supposedly ignorant to remain as such. Just answer the dang commentary without getting all preachy!

I would suggest to the OP, as others have said, if you're concerned enough about the Desire Demon's so-called "nudity" enough that you would consider not buying the game, there are many much worse things in the game, maybe you shouldn't buy the game, as you're not going to be able to mod them all, if any of them. This "nudity" is a miniscule element of the entire game.

Dragon Age is a freaking excellent game in terms of its atmosphere and realism, but its rated 17+ for a reason. ;)

You're right. Me and my girlfriend had AMAZING sex in our underwear last night.

Underwear sex is underrated.

Can the Toolset do it?  I would expect most certainly so.

Is someone going to do it for you?  Not without some sort of incentive (read money).

You might be able to do it yourself, but I have no way to know that.

You also risk causing problems with the game messing with core game files that are tested and known to be fine.  (Standard Disclaimer because things can and do go wrong).

My question though is..........

If THIS is a problem.......

What are you planning to do about things like this???
