Title says it all, according to the dragon age wiki, you either have to do the long road or have 50% rivalry or friendship
well I have the 50% and if I choose to deny doing the longroad, I get no other contact or message from her

I do think some (if not all) of the companion quests aren't available if you didn't do their quest in Act 1. It happened to me on my mage playthrough with Fenris. I wasn't taking him anywhere so forgot to do his quest in Act 1 where you get stopped by the slavers. As a result his quest wasn't available in Act 2.
