ARMOR SHOULD BE FOR REDUCING DAMAGE
Not for determining whether you get hit or not.

Why are you people claiming critique is trolling? Do you have some kind of unhealthy passion about this game that you can't admit it has flaws?
Its trolling because this is NOT a D&D game. So complaining about the fact that it doesn't use the D&D ruleset, or classes, or spells, or item creation methods, or whatever the hell else they would like to complain about is completely and utterly inane.
Not to mention its been said a million times before, and everyone is tired of hearing it.

I'm not certain what it means, but I have a friend who bench presses 200 pounds less than me and he
said it's a pen and paper roleplaying game ruleset. .
Awesome

I for one have a sex life to consider and can't spend my time reading Dungeons & Dragons rulebooks.

Hi there, kids
First, let me say this, Dragon Age: Origins is a great game. It really
is. It has flaws however. Even apart from the werewolves and their
horrible dialogue. The biggest flaw is that the game implements these
so called Dungeons & Dragons rules. I'm not certain what it means,
but I have a friend who bench presses 200 pounds less than me and he
said it's a pen and paper roleplaying game ruleset.
.
EPIC UNFUNNY FAIL. DAO is not D&D, and I can BP 315x4 so

Truth. Of course, in our D&D group we just assume that a 'miss' really means a 'failure to do damage' and against a heavily armored target a 'miss' usually means a blow that was deflected entirely by the armour. We also assume that hitpints aren't a direct representation of wounds, but more of your general wearyness and stamina as well as health.

I think AC and Hit Points were intended to be amalgrams of things, instead of making multiple, multiple rules and stats for different ways damage can be mitigated.
