To be honest though, it did annoy me everytime we killed a Banshee she would get all upset saying "that used to be a person!" I just wish my Shepard would shout "what do you think all those husks we've killed used to be!? Or those Marauders!? Am I complaining? Is Garrus? No! So for the love of god, stop whining and deal with it!"

Seriously WTF is wrong with all these idiots whining about minor scenes that last seconds.

Because they're getting bored whining about the ending and are now picking the game's corpse apart like vultures looking for more reasons to whine.

I think BSN achieved to make a hate-thread about every single feature in the game...

Differences in cultures, the Turians and Humans are galvanised by the reaper invasion to try and fight back. The asari are always portrayed as more sensual/ caring/ emotional etc etc, add to this that they are not used to a problem they can't manipulate their way out of (as opposed to the stronger military backgrounds of the other races).
Also liara is a civilian and wouldn't have seen the awful things that happen in full scale war (I know she has been on missions but its not really the same, plus not so close to home).

...Hope that makes as much sense as it did in my head :P

She also freaks out when she sees a Banshee if you take her to the monastery, and it's intentional, it's meant to illustrate that it's not the same seeing others go through something that experiencing it firsthand, also, like The Angry One said no matter her hardening she's a civilian, not a trained soldier.

Liara is still extremely young by Asari standards, while Garrus and Shepard are far further into their prospective life expectancy. You don't expect a ten year old to be able to cope with tragic loss do you?

Liara also isn't a soldier, Shepard and Garus have already dealt with similar issues, granted not nearly on the same scale.

Come on, it just suits her character. It would be boring if everybody was like "Oh, they destroyed my planet and killed my people. Okay, I'll carry on".

More like peturbed. It's just amazing to see how much she continually whined, 'specially when compared to Garrus, Victus and Shepard. Sure, they mentioned the devastation but they didn't expect pity and they didn't get all depressed.

uhm, selective Memory? Garrus talks about Palaven and all the People who died there while being on Menae. Later on the Normandy he's trying to contact his Family on Palaven, finally does it, and advises Victus to give Palaven up.
Liara has scenes like that on Thessia and later on the Normandy where she is falling apart. After that it's done.

She's not ten, don't say that. It'll bring out all the moronic people who will claim you're in a relationship with a child.

Bare in mind that unlike most of the rest of the crew, Liara isn't a soldier and far more emotional than the rest of the crew.
Most of the toughness she exhibits in ME2, along with being the Shadow Broker, is mostly just an act so that she doesn't break down. She got emotional when Palaven was burning, seeing her home planet burn is bound to be worse.

Yes I couldn't possibly imagine how a civilian scientist could ever be more emotional and unprepared for death and tragedy than trained soldiers.
She's been mowing down people with Shepard since ME1, and seen her fair share or traumatic stuff. Being the shadow broker and going through the process of the shadow broker should've toughened her up too. She's not the average civilian scientist.

Soo, because someone else has it just as bad as you, you don't get a right to break down?

Soo, why do you ever complain about your food if there are people that don't even eat food on a regular basis?
Why do you whine about whining when there are actually people who have a reason to whine?

Hypocrite is acting like a ...
...I
don't complain about food because I know I have it luckier than most
people. Also, if I'm at a resturant my orders are so simple that it
would take someone with STML to forget it. She just needs to soldier on
man. She's not dead, she gets to fight another day. Which is more than
most of the population of Thessia can say.
You do
realise that you're whining about Liara whining, right? You're saying
that she should soldier on. However, you are making posts on the forums
about her whining. It surely sounds hypocrital to me...

If
anything I always thought that Liara was way to stand-off ish after
Thessia got steamrolled. Just like all other people with their
respective homeworlds.

I don't mean to whine, it just annoyed me. There's not really a way to discuss something that annoys you without people precieving it as whining. Shepard stepped up after Earth got downed and Garrus stepped up after Palaven got downed. Liaras a big girl, she could've stepped up without all the melancholy.

It's just about as annoying to have people jump to conclusions and automatically call someone who doesn't praise every second of the game a whiner. Honestly.

I think she is entitled to her share of whining considering her Homeworld is in ruins. Just because the other crewmembers act though doesnt mean she has to as well :)

Correct.

And no matter if she's young or if she's a soldier or not, just imagine YOU, in the REAL WORLD had to watch Earth get destroyed. You would stand there and know that your home gets burned down and most of your friends will most likely die in horrible pain. You would also cry, you would also "whine", you would also react like Liara, if not worse.
Do you really think you could handle such an experience without problems?
You are either lying, afraid to show feeling or have a hart of stone if you would not cry and "whine" about such thing.

So Liara's reaction actually is more realistic than most others. In such a situation you don't care that this has happened to others or that other people are in pain too. In a horrible pain like this, it is only natural to think of your own problems. Would you tell me not to cry if a friend of mine got murdered because "news flash", that happened to others too?!

Quite. It's pretty obvious that she's the most emotional person on your team.

Also, let's not forget Tali sobbing about her father. Or Ashley getting drunk. Or Garrus pissed off about Palaven. Each crew member just has a different way to express emotion.

Look at your first post and the title of this thread. If you really want to discuss that you found Liara's reactions towards the destruction of her homeworld too emotional, especially compared to Shepard and Garrus, you could have found some way to write that down and back it up with reasoning.

That would convince me of the fact that you're just annoyed, rather than whining.
