OP:

yeah I didn't like Liara. Actually I wish there was a renegade interrupt since she's whining about Thessia

well.......Earth is burned. Palavan is burned....Tutchanka is getting demolished by Reapers not to mention the whole genophage thrown at them....

Elcor home planet gone......Volus planet..gone

yeah the galaxy is at war with Reapers, and Bioware ignored the "renegade interrupt" button on this...

if I were shepard, I'd kick Liara off my ship. Do you remember what she said on Thessia "maybe the Alliance should offer us more help"

maybe the Asari's should've listened to our Wisdom and joined earlier then wait till the end when it's too late

To be fair, and I don't like the asari that much in general, Shepard asks the asari to assist Earth too. And nobody paid attention to the Reaper threat except Cerberus, probably just because TIM was already halfway indoctrinated the whole time anyway.

Or to quote Shep from a dialog with Legion?

"And they believed you?"
"Of course."
"That must have been nice."

Deja vu. Haven't there been three threads on this? Whining about Liara's whining?

One is expected, of course, to take the slaughter of billions on your homeworld with a stiff upper lip and perhaps a solitary fist clenched in anger. Sigh.

It's one thing to hear about places being bombed and destroyed that you have little connection to. It's another thing when said place being bombed and destroyed is your own home (or in Liara's case, her own world)

Never going to happen as shes clearly Biowares love child in this series. I like Liara but they shove her in the gamers face too much in 3

Her reaction is entirely believable, which is the point of storytelling (it's not having a bunch of people you agree with on everything blow sh*t up). Having said that, renegade!Shepard should have the option to be a douche about it.

-She told many asari to stay and fight so we could get to the temple and win the war, which failed because of Cerberus, thus ALOT of asari who could have got to safety died
-She is not military, she is civilian
-She just found out her whole culture was a complete lie and her own Mother lied to her her whoel life
-Liara has always been sensitive

Yes Liara "whining after one oft he most tragic events in her life is so bad. *rollseyes*

Lets not forget that she just found out her government was hiding one of the most significate prothean artifact, AND found out her entire species religion might be a lie necuase it was protheans not the goddess. Also earth was able to fight back and had reistance, Thesia was lost completely. You can not sit there and tell me that if earth was fully lost before we got there that humans would get a bit depressed too

The whole point of Shepard's running around is to bring help to Earth. Garrus' people make a point of refusing to help Shepard out until they bring reinforcements to help their resistance to the Reapers. The Krogan will only pitch in if they think you've cured the genocidal disease that was created to hobble their population. But Thessia just fell over, and instead of being preoccupied with bolstering their own defences the asari commit their forces to the crucible project and Earth.

Yes I realize that team Hackett's plan is the best shot of saving everyone, but it's inconceivable to me that it wouldn't (or shouldn't) make Liara question what was so damned special about the pink skin interlopers that everyone else has to drop their plans for self-defense to run off and fight for Earth.

All things considered she got over it pretty quickly. Particularly since aside from Tali she's the only teammate that isn't military and trained to suck it up and concentrate on the plan, and Tali's story arch is either "give me a homeworld, or I'll kill myself" so yeah.

Whining quarians and their bellyaches.

Her reaction is believable. It's the 'suddenly focus almost everything after Thessia on Liara's breakdown' that makes it more... apparent:

Tali is talking about Liara, Liara is crying, Liara wants to attack Javik because he told her to quit whining and revealed the truth about their 'goddess' (and really, why didn't EDI alert Shepard that she wanted to tear him apart?)...

That said, I'm okay with  Liara, but I didn't like how they handled the situation after Thessia.

yeah, becuase Liara asking for help to fight the reapers on her planet to save her species is totally diffrent than Shepard asking for help to help save all the humans on earth <_<

Also Earth burns but the people are still fighting, Palavan burns but they are pushing the reapers back. Thessia was LOST. If earth was lost I am sure even joker would lose it abit.

As far as the debate of "Well they should have joined the fight sooner" argument, Lets look at earth. Shepard took out an entire colony to give earth and the galaxy time to prepare for the reapers. What did the alience do to prepare? They retrofited ONE ship, the Normandy. Thats it. They did just as much as the other races preparing for the war, which was NOTHING. I do not single out the Asari for being stupid, Even our own kind did not prepare like they should have

I don't really mind her reaction to Thessia because she is a much more emotional than most of the other characters. The one thing that got me on Thessia was when she was saying "Maybe next time the Alliance can send us some air support." Really? Where were the asari when the reapers attacked Earth? Because they certainly weren't providing air support. But that was the only part of the Thessia mission that really stuck in my craw. What really bothered me was the mission at the monastary when she was all outraged about the banshees. Like she's only realizing what a horrifying thing the whole huskifying process is now that the reapers are doing it to the asari when they've been doing it to humans for the last three years.

Ummm...she only kills herself after watching her people die. Her people are pretty much gone and shes problebly going to be one of 100 Quarions left . Some do not come back to the fleet after pilgrimage so ahundred or more might still be around, but I would not put that number of ones left above 100. Atleast with the baterians there could be atleast 1-2 million to repopulate (just my guess, could be more, but I don't see less then that). I do not see the quarians being able repopulate with 100 survivors.

I dare you to tell Javik he has a 'bellyache' about all his people being dead and wanting to kill himself after the mission is over

I'm pretty sure if I saw Earth invaded by Reapers, my people turned into freaky zombies, and discovered that a race of four-eyed space trolls manipulated many important aspects of our early history which the authorities kept hidden from us, I wouldn't be sat on my space ship giggling with glee.

Her reaction to the fall of Thessia is understandable. The problem with Liara is that she is just overly present and the conversations with her are horribly overdone. It really gets annoying pretty soon.

Just for the record: I don't hate Liara, I just wished Bioware would have accepted that not everyone cares about her and stopped forcing her on the player. At least some renegade dialogue options or interruptions would have been nice.

I suppose they don't expect even Renegade players to say "Hey, Liara, you know genocide? I'm totally for it!"

I think Steve was more overdone then Liara was. I am not sure if it was the actor or the writting but it just seemed like he needed to take it down a level. If I got married and lost my husband I would be sad sure but I would not be THAT over the top about it. Though maybe that is just me, I would be more angry then anything and would problebly just let my hate fuel me in the war against the Reapers.

Fair enough, then how about: "Earth and Palavan are not doing to good either, so get your sh*t together like the rest of us and focus an the mission!"
