Pre-match Player Evaluation: What's your method?

N7 Rating: This one's tricky, a high N7 means the guy played a LOT but it doesn't mean he's super good at it, doesn't also mean is a total beginner though. Also an N7 of 120 may mean a guy that is good and doesn't promote or a guy that's such a beginner that doesn't even know HOW to promote. Also a high N7 rating may lead to further misconceptions such as you may "trust the guy" on things you normally abhor such horrible weapon choices thinking that since the guy has a high N7 rating he knows what he does.
Weapon Carried: This is the most reliable variable to me, if you take adept and carry a Claymore AND the Revenant chances are you don't even know the meaning of words such as "cast" or "spells" or even worse "Adept".
Level of the Current Character: This one's tricky as well, a guy with a level 1 sentinel may outperform another guy with a level 20 adept easily if he carries the right weapons and knows how/when to cast spells.
class Choices: Another tricky variable, some classes seem to be evergreen such as Infiltrators that most of the times come handy, some others are a hazard, such as human/krogan vanguards which either they will get killed during the first minute of every wave ultimately leading the team an inevitable defeat OR they will be so good you will have troubles finding standing enemies.

If they are using low level bronze weapons on silver, I kick them. Same goes for if they are below level 10. On gold, if someone is below 18 I kick without looking at weapons. If they are over 18, weapon rule applies here.

Since I play Bronze, Silver and FBW Gold farms I have none. Let the people play the game the way they want ffs.
Considering most of of us would rather have a stress free group and not want to worry about some scrub who keeps dying over and over on gold due to being a low level character and having terrible weapons.

If their level is below 7-8 I will look at their N7 rating if it quite low then I assume they are a new player (Though potentially a previous experienced player with a new Gamertag), Weapon use doesn't really bother me they are free to use what weapons they want.
If there player level is then lower than 7-8 and they have a low N7 rating indicating they are a new player i'll look at the other players classes and see if we have an Infiltrator who could revive him if he needs the help, if not i'll try to evaluate if the team would be better off if I stayed as my current class or changed to an infiltrator.
I don't kick though unless the player is not setting to ready, But I guess you could say my method of evaluation is a mix of N7 and Level.

(while N7 doesn't equal skill, it does equal experience)
Weapons - If they don't make sense I will ask someone what they are doing.... Black Widow on a caster = WTF? NO!
Level of Character - 10+ for Silver, 15+ for Gold no ifs ands or buts
class Choice - Doesn't matter for Silver, but if we are going for a certain strategy on Gold... it completely matters.

I mostly look at their character, character level and weapon loadout. If they're using a decent class with a weapon that can do some damage and that makes sense on the class then I approve.
As for N7 rank it doesn't mean a lot, preferrably over 120 though but I I'll play with lower ranks if they are usinga good class and a good weapon.
You can usually tell weither or not someone's going to be useful or a liability by looking at their class and their loadout. Majority of the time if I let someone stay in in spite of my better judgement they usually do terible.

Step One: People Join game
Step two: We hit button to play game.
Step three: Profit
Seriously, I dont care what you play as if it works for you. If, ater we play, you are in fact a leecher or whatever, or you are extremely annoying over the mic, then we part ways. N7 Level 1? Bring it. N7 level over 9000? Bring it. Doesnt matter, had game.

I just join a game and start up, I do check to see what weapons people have I tend to facepalm and the 1 weapon idiots.
I mean I was using my Asari Justicar with 2 weapons equipt and did perfectly fine same with my Geth Engineer so why do you need 200% recharge and an SMG?
You can also get some light sniper rifles.

We had some guy in FBW geth gold as a vanguard I saw him and said to the other guys "Who brings a vanguard into Gold you get squashed". And after about 4 waves and countless deaths I just told the guys not to revive him because hes an idiot.
Then we found out the dude quit and we finished the match. Everyone played how they wanted just 1 rage quitted. Not our problem.

On silver I kick anyone lower than level 10. Either you promoted the character (which was your choice) or you are new, either way don't waste other people's time when you could do a couple bronze's and have more points to spend. If that concept baffles you...chances are you too selfish to be a good team player.
The only other thing I will kick for is having no mods equipped on your gun when your N7 is over a 100. Please buy something other than spectre packs...
On gold, I usually kick anyone who isn't 20. The lack of mods issue applies here as well, but to everyone. Also, if you use no consumables I probably won't bring you along if I am playing with friends...it is a bad sign.
Oh, and I kick drell adepts. Sorry, but I like having my sound on.

On silver if I see a low level player I will just leave. I don't kick anyone ever. I just find another game.

Gold... I base it purely on the weapon, mods and class that they are using. Also if you hit ready as soon as you enter, no thanks, you need to make sure your class fits with the rest.

dude. Lighten up. You do not have to be level 20 to beat gold. Level 15 and up is fine.

Pretty much this is how I evaluate players. You don't know the rational behind why people choose how they choose, so leave it alone until after the match is done. The Adept with the Claymore may outscore you.
Edit: People take this game way too seriously. It's a game first and foremost. Have fun.
