Oh god, some people have issues here. Why can't you people just have fun and let other people have fun however they want to? I mean there is nothing wrong with Adept who carries Claymore or sniper rifle. It doesn't matter what weapon/class combo a player is running with. As long as he has fun, let them do it.

Unless you plan on doing a speedrun(which I guess you have a team already) I can understand why'd you go with 200%+ CDR on Adept etc.

Otherwise, kicking someone just because of his weapon choice/level/class is just stupid and childish.

no game is fun if you cant get what you want out of it

in this case its maximum credits on gold, if you cant get that, and that is what you want, is that fun?

I try to keep an open mind but lately anyone with an Xbox gamertag that has 420 or any mention of weed seems to have a high rate of going afk after wave 1 =/

I don't kick. I WANT to kick when I see a lvl 1 in a gold lobby because personally I level up in bronze and silvers just so I have my powers upgraded for gold. Yes I know lvl 1 can beat gold but still, you are lvl 1 and you are really not helping taking a slot that a level 15+ with powers leveled can help. Luckily even though I won't initiate a kick others will so usually that lvl 1 on gold get's the boot anyway. But I have never initiated a kick unless the player AFK'd at the ready screen.

Bronze? I yell at people that try to kick. Sorry but kicking in Bronze for anything other then taking forever to be ready is just stupidity. Kicking after for leeching or whatever is fine.

Silver? I mean really if you can't 2/3 man a silver then you should kick yourself. I can't be the only one that has had to mop up a silver wave after the rest of the team dropped. It's NOT that dam hard to do.

Random gold being the only time I consider kicking;
Char lvl is the first thing that sets off the alarm, if below 17 check N7 and weapons lvls
(Weapon levels are the best tell if the player has XP or not, having a gold weapon X most likely means you've got mileage. Even at high N7 rating if you're not playing gold that often, you don't have the coin to aquire these)
Not using equipment at that point is not what I want to see, class selection is last.

With all that considered if I feel the player isn't going to bring enough to the table I vote kick

Instant kicks are adepts with heavy weapons, carrying only an SMG (with LWM, please)...

Fixed.  You could use 2 for every weapon but the SMG.

No I have 4 mods total.

Here is the break down.

2 Assault rifle mods
2 Pistol mods

Thats all I have maybe 1 for the SMG.

The only reasons I would kick on bronze would be: leeching the last round, making noise or talking/singing annoyingly on his mic (usually to himself) or not readying up. On silver I've become a lot more strict due to losing so many games where I played with fools.

First I look at their lvl, if it's under 12 I'll check their N7 lvl and weapons. N7 in itself also means something, I'm wary of someone playing silver with lower than about lvl 50, as it means they probably haven't played other classes much or know their roles well enough.

I'm not interested in carrying other people, or using all my consumables to maybe scratch out a win (when they die early each wave and perhaps fire a cobra at a non-threat on wave 3).
Had a game where the highest ranked (340-something) came dead last, and number 2&3 were rank 30-70, so you never know. :)

Its always got something to do with money and equipment with you lot isn't it?

Most people do gold to get money to get better packs and equipment, if your kicking them for not having good enough equipment then your the one at fault not the guy who has bad luck with the game.

Its a vicious circle. Guy needs money for equipment so he goes into gold > Guy who sees new guy kicks him for not having good equipment > Rinse Repeat.

If you really want decent people playing then give over players a chance. Its like a job you don't get a job due to lack of experience yet you can't get experience without a job.

Its retarded. Help yourself by helping other players.

Bronze: Anything goes, Bronze is a breeze. I might take a peek at your weapons, but I won't boot you for it. Booting on Bronze for N7 rating would be ridiculous, that is where low level guys are supposed to be.

Silver: If you want to come with me you better be able to pull your weight. I don't care about your points at the scoreboard, I don't care about your class, I want you to do your job. If you are a Kroguard, then I expect you to draw fire away from the squishies and survive that. That doesn't mean that you should charge headlong into anything you see, but if there is a group of Hunters pesking us we expect you to help us out.
This also means that you should be suited to do your job. You should be at a reasonable level (10+), you should have a resonable loadout of reasonably leveled weapons and mods. I don't care if you sport an Avenger, but then you'd better make sure it's leveled up. That is very, very easy to do, even on Bronze. If you are lacking there (which is something you honestly shouldn't do, go back to Bronze if you are missing even the most basic weapons) then you should at the very least try to compensate for it with consumables.
Also, understand that you are playing with three other guys who kind of want to finish their mission. If we are sure that you'd be more of a burden than help, we'll probably boot you.

Gold: I don't play gold, I just don't feel comfortable there.

That being said: I NEVER boot without asking you to leave before. I have a microphone, I can articulate myself in english, and I use it liberally. If you are sure that I'm mistaken I'd love to hear your comment. If you don't answer THEN I'll boot you.

I look at quite a bit.

1. The obvious stuff is weapons/loadout/class. If you have a dual wielding adept, you go home.

1a. N7 rating, anything over 100 is fine, anything less than 50 is a kick, anything in between makes the rules below apply even more.

2. Then I look at consumables - are they willing to use them? generally speaking, willingness to throw on ammo/armor consumables in a pub equates to willingness to use rockets which in Gold often means the difference between wiping and getting paid

3. Does the person have a mic? Do they say hi?

4. Intangibles: how fast they press ready, if someone joins the lobby and immediately presses ready, I usually know they are an idiot. Though if their N7 rating is high enough (along with satisfactory 1-3), it means they just want to get it poppin so I keep them.

5. Cycling weapons/classes - if someone is constantly cycling their sniper rifles like they can't figure out which one to use - I kick them. If they are cycling classes and if it's in response to other people joining/switching in order to improve synergy, I'll add them to my friends list if we succeed.

6. Another intangible: mic noises pre-game. if someones mic randomly goes off with them breathing or a baby crying, or whatever, I'll kick them. They obviously are not smart enough to understand "Push to Talk" so I doubt they will be smart enough to work together.

You don't NEED to do gold runs to get your equipment together. You can do that on silver just as well. It takes a bit longer, yes, but it's completely doable. Just because Gold nets you MORE credits you can't just tell three other guys to pull your sorry ass through there because you are too lazy to work for it on silver.

Well when you look at it like that I do have more than I thought. Thanks for that.

However I mostly use my assualt  rifle and powers, and rarely use my sencondry weapons which are saved for emergancies. I never use my sniper rifles and gave up on shotguns.

So I guess I only see 4-5 mods when I sort out my weapons.

The only reason I started going into gold was to get more than 30k a game.

I wanted the resurgance pack and doing 2 gold games is faster than 4 silver or 6 bronze and its also more fun. Besides I jump around Bronze and silver mostly if I level up characters I do bronze till lvl 15 then go to lvl 20 in silver

It just goes back to what I was saying earlier - It's a lot easier to level up your mods by buying recruit and veteran packs than buying only Spectre packs hoping to get that Carnifex or Falcon.  The mods will at least make a halfway decent weapon viable in the harder difficulties.

Yes, I get the motivation, that's not the problem. I have a problem with people NOT SUITED for the respective difficulty level joining and expecting to be pulled through. If a guys joins, say, a Silver lobby with a level 3 Asari Adept sporting a nice Mantis III and a Katana I, do you think this guy will be a help? No. He will not. The only thing he will do is slow us down because he wants faster credits, and three completely random people that owe nothing to this guy have to suffer for it.

It's only basic decency to stay away from higher difficulties if your character level, loadout or experience is not suited for that.  Even if that would net you more credits.

I always check gear, but I do that just to get an idea of what I can expect from the other players in terms of playstyle and behaviour. I don't make any judgements about their effectiveness.

Like, I kinda want to know if an infiltrator has a sniper rifle equipped or a shotgun. That tells me a lot about how they'll be playing.

I do this only to guess how they'll be playing, not how good or how bad.
