Interesting points, I agree they should not be a pivotal point in the story all of a sudden. I hope that they will at least offer the largest amount of support for shepard, for example: shepard injured and beaten is given a pep talk by their LI and helped up to his/her feet. Would be a very touching scene I feel and will make the player feel like theyre fighting not only for the galaxy, but also for their LI. Good way to motivate the player imo.

The whole last mission should be re-done and incorporate more moments between you and your LI as you fight, take a break from fighting, whatever. Those were your last moments together and both of you should have been communicating at times. I understand you were moving fast, but something like you both running to cover in a cutscene and as you both hit cover, backs against the wall, Shepard looks over and a bullet streaks next to him as he pulls back down to safety. He then says, "I.... I... *cough* there's too many. We'll never push through them all.", exhaling heavily. This could be a BIG moment because it would imply one of the very few times in the trilogy that the Commander feels almost hopeless. Liara (or whoever your LI is) senses this, looks at you concerned, and then after a moment of pause, responds, "Yes we will. I know we will." An immensely exhausted Shepard, head leaned back against cover, turns his head towards her as he continues to try and catch his breath. His face shot with exhaustion, pain, and stress. Blood and sweat drip down his brow, and his eyes lock with hers. She continues, "We will. Because you will. You have taken us this far. Nothing has stopped you. You have united a galaxy and now we have almost accomplished what civilizations before us could not. You are the only person who can do this, Shepard. I've never met anyone like you. Without you, none of this would have been possible. It is you and you alone that everyone is counting on. We all trust you. We all admire you. We all love you... *she looks down for a moment... then back up* I love you... so much. You can do this, Shepard. I know you can. *she ejects a thermal clip from her pistol* Let's finish this, Commander.

Shepards face tightens. His will strengthened by the words of his love. He smiles at her, and then gives her a nod. Both of them burst out of cover immediately taking down two enclosing Cannibals. They move on toward the final stage of fighting before they get to the beam. Overwhelmed, Shepard, Liara, and Garrus fight bravely. Shepard and Garrus close in and employ melee tactics as they do their best to quickly and methodically take down as many enemies as possible in one on one fashion. All as Liara provides support with Singularity and Stasis. Holding waves of enemies back as Shepard and Garrus pick apart as many as they can.



A simple cutscene like that... a break in the action shared by both Shepard and his LI, would have been very powerful and once again shown the effects everything has had on Shepard's mind and morale. The quick jump back into action could have been an awesome scene, therein which after you are quickly thrust back in Shepard's shoes once the area is cleared.

Well, it's certainly a big part of what I felt I was fighting for.

Well, it's certainly a big part of what I felt I was fighting for.

Indeed, same with me and Liara. Back to that scene on Mars when Shepard tell Liara that he fights for his friends, and his loved ones (as he holds her face). And then on the Normandy, he tells her that he couldn't do any of this without her. This implies shes a pretty big deal to him. So yes, she should get the spotlight in the end as well. All LI's should. That's what I am saying.

A final scene with Shepard and his LI after all is won and the Reapers are destroyed, would be fantastic and essential to providing closure. Whether its building the house for Tali, spending time with Liara and you little blue baby, or searching and finally finding Miranda... these moments should be the closing moments of the game in my mind. To exemplify that all is now complete, and the hero of the galaxy can now settle down with his love.

This like I said, should be the last thing you see, but it should definitely come after extensive footage of other issues with the end being tied up. ie. final battle with the Reapers and war assets coming into play, the rebuilding of everyones homeworld, closure and some moments with your squad and friends. Basically we want an ending like the Return of the King. That shows extensive aftermath but also recovery, hope, and love. Mass Effect deserves this.

Know what's even suckier? In ME2 Jack is quite open with the fact she bats for both sides, but unmodded games can't get Jack interested in a FemShep.

I do too, though with my LI (sorry Tali fans). 

Don't be sorry, every LI deserves a similar scene.  (Though that one in particular is just fine for me )

At some point the series the game turned in my head from defeating the Reapers to just wanting Shepard and LI to be together (never thought I was a romantic wimp before!), and getting the Reapers out of the way as merely being something necessary to achieve that (and duty coming before personal issues I suppose). So yes. DLC full of Tali please!

If you really messed up the game with a pathetically low EMS the LI ought to play a big part in hammering that home too, by coming to an unpleasant end. Unless it's Tali.

I think your LI, if she survives the run to the beam, should have a large part in the EC. If the LI is stranded on Gilligan's Planet then I don't really care so much.

People really need to let go of the "Babies" thing.....its too up-front and blatant.

Showing Liara pregnant and "with child".(maybe have a slight bump) is way more powerful and will have a much more emotional impact than throwing a creepy blue baby in our face.....why? Because having a scene of Liara "showing", literally shows Liara carrying on Shepards legacy.....

This would be much more subtle, and tasteful imo

I get why Tali fans are pissed, I would've liked to see her face "in game".....but to tell you the truth, if I were a Talimancer I'd be more pissed off that they show her face in a stock photo, than I would about her face not being shown in game.....if the stock photo wasn't in the game, and they still didn't show her face, I would be alright with it(just so long as they show a part of her skin in-game, maybe in the love scene, just to give us a sense of her skin pigment)......I get why they didnt want to show her face in game....but if that was the case, the stock photo should've never been included. It's ridiculous....

I just don't think people should expect much from the EC, and certainly not houses being built or blue babies.....I do however, "hope" for things like this to be implied with subtlety...

Instead of showing us Shepard building Tali's house on Rannoch, show him and Tali on a balcony over looking a canyon as they watch the sunset(on a planet that is obviously Rannoch)

Instead of showing Liara with blue babies, show her with a small "baby bump" as her and Shepard looking to the stars.....

If Shep didn't survive....Liara's scene can stay the same, minus Shepard.....for Tali, idk? Maybe this can be the one and only time they show her face in game....Maybe show her touching a monument of Shepard and backing away while turning her head down....she takes off her mask and looks up with a tear coming from her eye she says "Thank You, Shepard....I will never forget you....by the homeworld, I swear."....and then she walks away....fade to black....begin massive praise for Bioware....

What If someone played without a LI? It'd be damn rare but maybe some people have... Either way great topic.
