Anyone else tired of these ridiculous killing moves?

Need to be hugging her? I was backing away from her after my charge, and was halfways on doing a nova blast on her, when i character just stops and LETS HER do her job on him.

Dont go near it? First, youre missing the point with vanguard. If i cant do what vanguards do best, whats the point of even including them? Second, i only go near something if i REALLY HAVE TO. A teammate was being attacked, and i tried to help.

And to be honest. I am NOT asking people to help me get rid of the killing moves. Im asking YOU to help ME improve the killing moves, give the player a BIGGER chance from what they already have (the little it is) to retaliate from a killing move. Youre being bombarded by rocket launchers (geth rocket troopers) and plasma cannons (geth primes) and you can still survive? Why cant you survive and groundslam (brute), an arm going right into you (banshee) or a toothpick sword, when they are just as lethal as being bombarded by rocket or plasma fire?

Edit: The rockets would tear you apart, and the plasma balls would disintregate you. Thats alot more fatal than having a small toothpick sword run through your chest....

Yeah those melee moves are completely OP.

So I'm playing my Marauder or Centurion and suddenly this frickin Infiltrator decloaks out of nowhere and slashes me with her omni-tool. I was at least 5 metres away and she just locks on and lunges the gap to slash me to death. Or I get charged by a Vanguard, and WHILE THEY'RE STILL INVINCIBLE FROM CHARGE, launch into their completely broken biotic punch attack and blast me off the map.

Don't even get me started on the Geth area attack or the Batarians OHK punch.

NERF THE HEAVY MELEE BIOWARE IT'S MAKING THE GAME UNPLAYABLE!!!!!!!!

Hahaha! So true!

@OP: the killing moves themselves are fine, but the lag is what kills us, hate being Force-pulled from 20 feet away into the claws of the banshee.

I can understand that these cheap kill moves are frustrating given that the enemy takes you out for the entire wave. Yet on the other hand, if they were to be removed entirely, the Human/Krogan Vanguard would officially be the most overpowered class in the game.

Yeah. I don't mind most of them, but the Banshee's end up really cheesy at times. They either pull you from 20 feet away or  warp right up to you and then do it.   The others give you a fair chance to avoid them.

I'm very sorry for this, but the whole point of dealing with a Phantom is to stay away from them. If you're going to melee them, make sure to stun them first or ensure that something will cancel their execution move.

The Batarian Ballistic Blades last evolution "Detonation" can do this with Banshees and Phantoms. It explodes while they're grabbing you and maes them stagger, freeing you.

She staggered after i charged her. Meaning she got stunned. You dont think i know i need to stun them before i do something? No one on this thread seems to be thinking, youre all just assuming i am charging in mindlessely. Well heres something for you to think about. There has to be some reason for why i charge in like that, maybe you should figure out what made me charge in like that?

I dont want them removed, i just want them improved a little bit.

I get the feeling people think i am taking this a little too much. I am not complaining about the ending, or talis face, thanes conclusion in the game, shepards death or anything. I am only asking for a LITTLE improvement on those killing moves. But never mind that, lets keep the killing moves the way they are. After all, its fun getting sucked towards your doom without being able to fight back.

I think what's most annoying with phantoms is their guns. Avoiding the instakill move is just about attacking it at the right moment or simply keeping distance. But their damn guns takes away your shield and almost all your health in one attack even from very long distances. And since they can be far away you may not even see them so you can't tell from what direction it comes from.

There was a post on here a while back about what to look for prior to the grab. All of the insta-kill moves are prefaced by something, such as the Banshee not being able to grab you as long as she has her biotic shield graphic active. When she has just blown it on her nova and is walking around with no graphic, it is time to find a good hiding place for a bit.

I got a better idea. Lets make ALL attacks in the game lethal enough to put you out for the rest of the wave.

I agree the instakill is ridiculous when it's due to lag. But assuming no lag, the instakill move can be avoided easily by keeping distance or attacking at the right moment (when it's staggered, has no barrier, etc.). Their distance attack is in the same circumstances much more difficult to defend against.

Yes i read that one. It will help a bit, but it still buggers me that they can magically suck you towards them or the way your character just stops whatever he was doing (like being in the middle of a charge or a middle of a krogan charge).

And i did stagger this phantom i was talking about as well i backed away from her after my charge.
