I think what's most annoying with phantoms is their guns. Avoiding the instakill move is just about attacking it at the right moment or simply keeping distance. But their damn guns takes away your shield and almost all your health in one attack even from very long distances. And since they can be far away you may not even see them so you can't tell from what direction it comes from.
That hand palm gun is ridiculous yeah.... but not as ridiculous as their magnetic killing moves.
I agree the instakill is ridiculous when it's due to lag. But assuming no lag, the instakill move can be avoided easily by keeping distance or attacking at the right moment (when it's staggered, has no barrier, etc.). Their distance attack is in the same circumstances much more difficult to defend against.
And i did stagger this phantom i was talking about as well i backed away from her after my charge.
I do understand this point. You should be allowed to at least finish a move like charge and not be stabbed in the middle of the flight. Edit: And the same goes for the situation you're describing assuming it was not due to lag.

Someone who understands. Thank you! My fellow mass effect player.

And please, dont give me any smartass replies on why i should not go into close combat with a phantom. I played a VANGUARD, in case you dont know thats the class thats made for UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL combat. Having a firefight with a phantom is pretty much useless anyway............
Im sorry but that is the only way to avoid phantoms, why dont you clear all the other mobs and leave the insta-kill melee character to the ranged classes....you vanguards dont have to kill every mofo in the room you know...asari biotics and Salarian infiltrators are ideal for killing phantoms
Every class has its weakness and this is yours....GET OVER IT

Vanguard...when you absolutely have to kill every last MF in the room, accept no substitutes.

But when one of your teammates is dancing with one, are you still just going to avoid phantoms and go kill the "smaller" enemies?

Close combat is the vanguards weakness? Oh then maybe every vanguard should equip themselves with sniper rifles and camp on the other side of the map and not help their teammates.

having big nasties that you need to stay away from is fine...you big headed vnguards can still kill 90% of the field so just get over you damn selves and stop moaning

I was going to help a teammate when i did this. And i dont always get all the kills as a vanguard, most of the time my teammates finishes of the enemies after i come in there and shakes them a bit. I dont always play vanguard either, i like to play different classes for a different kind of playstyle.

I did not have an asari teammate. I had a teammate that was dancing with a phantom, so i come in and try to lend a hand. So i am going to suffer for trying to help my teammates?

Yesterday I raged too. I was about 4 meters (I think) away from her, froze and then slided closer so she could caress me with her saladfingers...
The "freezing" part is that annoys me, your character is just like "**** this, imma let her kill me". Every killing move starts that way.

The phantom and banshee in my opinion are fine. (It happens a lot to me)
Vanguard are close combat with high RISK in battle, and the vanguard class is a bit lame in multiplayer. Don't get me wrong I love the class, it is my favorite class but its too strong gets to easy points.
Vanguard can't kill phantom and banshee that well but Infiltrator do. I understand you helped a team member but its still a risk.

So do i, but its the "freezing" time, when your character just decides to stop whatever he was doing that bugs me. I dont want to take away the killing moves either, i just feel they need to be improved. Not nerfed or buffed. Improved.

2. Insta-kill does not kill you right away. You just bleed out quickly (can't prolong life with spacebar)
But your teammates can still save you
