in addition, do you think Witcher 3 will destroy Mass Effect 3?

Apples and oranges for me. Witcher 2 - better c&c, better exploration. ME2 - better character customisation, companion-based gameplay, better voice acting.

And no, unless the Witcher 3 introduces the ability to play as a customisable female character and introduces a squad to explore the world with, it will not destroy ME3, it will remain apples and oranges. Especially if ME3's ending is made more palatable by the EC.

I had less bugs and continuity problems with W2, so that wins for me. Game only wise, close call. I like both apples and pears.

Witcher 2 is a better rpg. But mass effect 2 is a better game on the xbox. Witchers combat plus not being on a keyboard = I don't remember setting this to veteran mode while on normal.

Plus mass effect 2 had a more interesting cast and a much more focused plot than witcher 2's find who done did it story. But I'm willing to give it another chance, it still had a pretty good story, I just liked mass effect 2 better.

Without character creation, I don't even consider Witcher an RPG.* So ME3 wins for me.

Witcher 2 as the better RPG. I did have more fun with ME2 tho in any case.

I've never played The Witcher 2, actually. I can say that out of the 2, there would likely be "MOAR RPG" in the Witcher. I'd have probably enjoyed ME2 more due to its combat, however. I saw videos of TW2's combat and didn't like what I saw. The choices seem to have far better consequence in TW2 though, to the same extent it did with BG2, where it could affect how an entire chapter played out.

in addition, do you think Witcher 3 will destroy Mass Effect 3?

It wouldn't take much. OOHHhhhhhh..... Could not resist.

Without character creation, I don't even consider Witcher an RPG.* So ME3 wins for me.

By that frame of Logic, Planescape: Torment isn't an RPG? It's clearly more of a tactical squad-based isometric action game? With 800,000 words of dialogue? :| Damn.

Doesn't even compare for me.

As story-driven games and RPGs,

IMO
TW2 has the better plot (ME2 barely had one)
TW2 has the better more complex setting (whatever new additions to ME lore in ME2 were kept in the BG)
TW2 tackles more interesting issues in a more mature, indepth and intelligent way
TW2 has the much stronger cast of characters (I didn't give a damn about any ME2 character, barring Mordin because he is awesome, Garrus because I already knew him from before even though he is underwhelming in ME2, Wrex, Legion even though he is a walking codex and TIM because I thought he was cool but turns out he is an epic failure and I was a fool.)
TW2 has the better antagonist (Harbinger is a joke)
TW2 has the better protagonist (Shepard is a Sue moron)
TW2 has choices and consequences that ME2 wouldn't even dream of having.
TW2 has higher replayability (only played ME2 three times. I already played TW2 4 times and just started my 5th)
TW2 has the better soundtrack
TW2 has the better ambience
TW2 has more fun gameplay (though ME2 was fun in the first few playthroughs, gets boring after a while), including weapons, outfits, potions / oils and the leveling up system.
...etc.

So ME2 doesn't come even close imo. Neither does any Bioware game I played for that matter.

No problem Jack, I love Planescape: Torment though. I consider it the greatest RPG ever. I guess I classify RPGs differently. To each their own.

TW2 is better as a game imo. ME3 did wonders in terms of customization in relation to ME2, while TW2 was kind of a step back in relation to TW1 (ONLY in terms of RPG elements).

In comparing ME2, TW2 takes the cake though

DominusVita^ As much as I do not like witchers combat, gameplay, and narrative, you'd probably be right about ti being better than mass effect 3.

Too different to compare.

To me, TW2 is not an RPG because I cannot role-play in it, given its set in stone protagonist.

Shepard isn't a blank slate either but there are variables, besides, both f and m Shep have better VO actors. Esp. Jennifer Hale. Whoever voiced Geralt cannot hold a candle to her.

I like both games equally but for very different reasons.

yes you cant compare every aspect of the 2 games, but those which you can compare(story, choices, characters, graphics, etc), Witcher 2 beats Mass Effect 2 in almost all of them

if Witcher 3 does come out, it will flat out defeat Mass Effect 3, no doubt about it
