Decent story, characters, dialogue, good C&C

Crappy gameplay, performance, graphics, WORST MINIGAMES OF ALL TIME

Conclusion: a typical Obsidian release (except for Dungeon Siege 3).

(not that gameplay, performance or graphics are particularly amazing in BioWare games either, mind you)

Good sir... Alpha Protocol features a fight versus a drugged up russian in a 80's disco while "Turn up the Radio" from Autograph is blaring from the speakers.

This makes all your arguments invalid!

Metal Gear has drugged up russians fighting you in a disco to 80's music? I should think about buying that series!

That you virumor? I assume you must greatly dislike Obsidian judging by your past New Vegas posts and here.:P
Also, I fail to see how could anyone have a problem with those freaking simple minigames. I mean.... really?

I'm replaying AP right now, as a matter of fact. I had played it years ago, but lost all my saves to Skyrim killing my launch PS3 (just kidding. Thing was old), so now I'm starting again as a fresh recruit!

Yeah, it's a good game.

I really should go back to play AP and help Steven Heck finding his keys... hand me the cleaning fluid, please!

Oh sorry, missed your post. I am a bad OP.^_^

I can't really comment on your console since I own the PC version, but there aren't any big addons (just some graphics tweaks) that should be vital to your first gameplay..

And most fixes I saw are usually about the mouse and camera sensitivity etc. There shouldn't be a problem on your XboX, but don't quote me on that.;)

I never used any of the fixes and add ons (you know... played it before it was cool. *puts on hipster glasses* :D ) and still had a good time with the game.

I would really recommend you to just try it out. You get it for an apple and an egg anyway.

So I see :P

Also, if you want a shorter answer:

... yes. It takes some time getting into the game but if you can get past the first few missions and get a hold of the gameplay/RPG mechanics, you could certainly enjoy it as I did.

As an old school RPG'er, I love stats, mechanics, choices and character building far more than is probably healthy so it especially as I can find it cheap these days it sounds like its worth a shot.

Heh, but don't really take my holy songs of praise that serious, just be sure to go into the game with reasonable expectations. Trust me. :D

Yea Alpha Protocol is one of my favorite games. With pistol and stealth, most of the gameplay bugs are rendered moot. in fact the game becomes too easy with that combination (I only used shadow operative once or twice, because it's op).

It has a very good story, excellent character interactions, very good choices and consequences, good antagonists and antagonist-protagonist interaction. And it had the best protagonist ever imo.
But it suffered from weak locations, no exploration and side quests at all, some plotholes and sometimes lack of clarity when it comes to the point of each individual mission in the larger scheme of things.

It had a fantastic story but alot of the characters where meh except for a few and I just could not play another PT. Horrible gameplay, horrible minigames and convo system imo. Kudos to peopel can enjoyed it alot and can do more then one pt.

I still have not tried this game. I really should, but I'm hooked on Jagged Alliance 2 for the billionth time at the moment.

I love Fallout 3 to death but it's way too damn glitchy on the PS3. Still. It got to the point where the framerate and freezing just killed the experience for me, which is a shame cuz Fallout 3 is just phenomenal otherwise. That was roughly a year ago, but I don't think the game has been improved through fixes since then.

Off-topic, sorry.
