So I found out that for some reason, the game checks your EMS before hitting cerberus, as opposed to earth. As such, I didn't have a high enough score for the 'perfect' ending where Shepherd lives.

I read on the forums here that simply restarting the cerberus base mission will make the game recheck my EMS and thus open up the good ending. However, when I do, the game also overwrites the autosaves on the very last mission (luckily, I had the good thought to ctrl+alt+del and close origin before it could sync with the cloud).

Since I can't make a manual save on the last mission, and because I haven't been remembering to save regularly anyway, the closest manual save point I can start from is the beginning of the london mission, some three gameplay hours earlier.

I am not fighting two harvesters, four banshees... what, like seven brutes, just to get a two second clip of shephard taking a breath.

So: Does anyone have any ideas on how to get around this? pwetty pwease?

Well keep in mind that even when you beat the game, it reloads your save back to before launching the assault on Cerberus HQ. You can just watch the breath scene on youtube.

The more troubling issue is what your EMS is and how it affects the Crucible.
