From the positive reception on the forums, and reports from many players of much more forgiving Gold lobbies for the duration of the weekend, Operation Carry has been a smashing success!

Thank you everyone for taking part.  Your efforts and heroism have been greatly appreciated.  Allied forces are pushing back the enemy on all fronts thanks to increased morale and experience provided by this operation.

Based on a highly scientific method of data extrapolation, 14,365.1432 more N7 weapons than otherwise possible will be awarded, pending hopefully issue-free delivery.  Until then, enjoy your +5 Kharma bonus!  :wizard:

Operation CARRY April 27-29

You know what's coming this weekend.  N7 weapons are going to be dangled in front of people who normally play only Bronze and Silver, and who really have no business in Gold.  They will flood the Public Gold lobbies and there will be great weeping and gnashing of teeth.  But, rather than complain about it, let's look at it as an opportunity to challenge ourselves, spread some cheer, and maybe show off a little.

So here's what I propose.  This weekend, go out into the public lobbies, and complete 1 gold game to extraction with randoms.  No picking and choosing, and definitely no kicking.  20 to 30 minutes of your time to make some poor newbie's dreams come true.

Community Goal: Earn 1,000 N7 weapons for newbies.
Squad Goal: Survive until extraction on any map and any enemy on Gold difficulty, in a public lobby with randoms without kicking anyone.

Successful completion of the Community Goal will grant all BSN Community members 1 week of good kharma.
Successful completion of the squad goal awards warm and fuzzy feelings of comraderie and accomplishment to all squadmates.

Operation Carry will run from 6:00PM PST, Friday April 27th until 5:00AM PST, Monday April 30th.  Carry will be available on all platforms, EVEN THE PS3!  "Upload Game Feedback" is not required.

Good luck and see you on the battlefield. Image IPB

Cracked me up. I hope people do have this kind of attitude this weekend. I really don't want to hear all the griping from people tired of dragging pubbies. It's a game and we can just spend one weekend helping people muscle through a Gold run, we'll be doing good as a community.

Hope they can survive the endless swarm of husks. Otherwise, it'll be near impossible to get to the extraction waves.

Step 1: Select Infiltrator.

Step 2: Punish noobs for dying by letting them stare at said Infiltrator for the next ten minutes while you clear the wave yourself.

Step 3: ???

Step 4: Profit.

Being that it's any map against any enemy.

I think we all know what's going to get spammed this weekend for easy extractions =P

Which is really just business as usual for random/random/gold.

You could just find people to add to your friends list and then complete the operation with them, rather than random publics.

Edit: Nice idea though. I'm sure I'll give it a few tries with randoms over the weekend too.

BSN is no place for sensible solutions.

I think most people are well aware of it.

The concept of this operation thread was to be nice to some of the players out there that aren't gold material to help them get their commendation packs.

Time to pick up my Battlemaster, turn on the mic, hit the charge, and shout "I'M COMIN' FOR YOU, BROTHER!" every time a poor N7 12 eats turf. Let's grow some quads out there, gentlemen.

Thanks for all the volunteers so far!  The more the merrier.  :)

You know, all the usual signs.  Equips a sniper rifle but shotgun amps, that sort of thing.  But don't worry, I don't think you will need to look for newbies.  They'll find you.  ;)

You are encouraged to take part even if your friends lists are maxed out!

I'm a Drellguard. I don't get to choose who I play with because I get kicked out of half the Gold lobbies I enter before I exit the searching/communicating screen. I play with anyone willing to green up with me in the lobby on gold. Lowbies, newbies, baddies, doesn't matter I can't discriminate if want to play gold.

Today, gold match on FBW vs Cerberus. A human engineer with N7 27 I think carrying an Avenger III joined the lobby. To my surprise, nobody kicked him. He died a couple a times (phantoms) but I have to say, he really handled himself rather well. Spammed overload, incinerate and his little drone all over the place. Hell, I feel bad for not remembering his Origin ID so I could add him as a friend.

So, I have to admit, I'm looking forward to encounter surprises like these.
