 To get the Commendation Pack this coming weekend, you have to have at least one member of your squad successfully extract from any Gold level map/enemy faction.  So as to limit the flooding of unskilled players into random/random Gold runs, if you're not "Gold ready", learn the Firebase White, Geth, Gold stragety and search for Gold runs on Firebase White against Geth.  

Bring your Human Engineer, Salarian Eng/Infil or Turian Sentinel and then head to the lower inside room behind the control desks.  Spam your power (Overload, Energy Drain, Warp etc) to setoff tech bursts which bring down Geth troopers quickly while also stunning them.  

Be sure to have at least one infiltrator in your squad, or fill that role yourself if no othes volunteer as you may have the 4/hack objective to complete and ONLY the infiltrator should leave the safety of cover to quickly hack the 4 points.  The rest of the squad stays put to keep heat off the infiltrator.  Search the forum for Geth Firebase White Farming for more detailed strategies.

If you want to fail at wave 3, 6 or 10 repeatedly, be my guest, as that will likely be the result of many players attempting Gold for the first time this weekend and being unprepeared for the increased hords of Banshees, Phantoms, Mauraders etc mowing them down in no time flat.

This.  I remember my first gold runs being quite overwhelming and being unsure of how we could possibly take down a half dozen phantoms dropping from the ceiling in front of us on Glacier.  Nearly shat myself

Yesterday I barely played gold matches because more than half of them were FBW w/Geth. Now it's going to be worse.

I've completed one gold game against Geth on Reactor, so I'm not too worried about the challenge, but I dont want to set it to Firebase White

two other quick reminders that can make things easy:

1) let the targets come to you for valuable target missions.

2) hacking objective: spam a rocket to clear the area, all 4 people hack & hold.

Better have a mobile aggrotank pull most enemies to him/her and out of the hotzone whilst the other three people do easily hold the objective against the few straddlers. Vanguards excell at that work, though naturally only if they are good enough to stay alive long enough to be of use.

That works too, though I dont think I have seen a FBWGG game where someone did this.  Actually only been in one FBWGG with a vanguard.  Mostly see engies/infils/t-sent.

But yeah you're right it's probably better too -- but I'm not sure I would suggest it as a beginner's tip.  The aggro tank would have to do a pretty decent job, no?

No, they should just stay grouped up all nice and neat in FBWGG without spilling over into every other lobby. It's bad enough that some are feeling brave enough to venture out, we don't need to encourage more.

I would suggest changing one of those randoms to a faction or map you want to play, at least for this upcoming weekend.:blink:

If you guys can kill phantoms with relative ease (HINT: STASIS OR ANY STAGGER EFFECTS WINS!), then you can slaughter cerberus on gold. The phantoms coming in packs will be your only real threat. You could even bring like 4 human soldiers with falcons and steam roll the cerberus.
