I keep seeing this referred to as -major-... But it's really not. The Geth Prime dialogue is actually in-game, in some capacity. The other four dialogues when edited and with pauses taken out would probably amount to a <2 minute battle scene that is not really substantial in any way.

I hate the way this stuff is being hyped up, as if including it in the extension will somehow redeem anything. There are far more important things that were cut; namely lore and logic.

I think everyone wants to believe there's some secret awesome ending on-disc that just didn't make it, they can't seem to imagine that this ending was planned and executed as intended, when defensive phrases like 'artistic integrity' make it pretty darn obvious it was.

You must not have read the article.

They mentioned nearly an entirely different ending. Read it. Also, read the linked interview with Weekes and what he was trying to put into the ending before Hudson locked everyone out.

It isn't JUST the cut audio...

You only get the Geth Prime dialogue if you kill the quarians (it'll be standing in Tali's spot). Also, since the quarians are dead this means you don't get to hear it's dialogue about the geth fighting with the quarians, and the "synergy" it creates. Which sucks.

The part with them talking about defending their sentients from the old machines and the synergy with their creators was absolutely amazing.

Yes...it is. What I don't understand is why they decided not to fit that Prime in if you made peace. It can't have been that hard to implement, surely!?

The thread also talks about a UI where we assign war assets ala the collector base.

I'm sure they had their reasons but it hurts thinking about what could've been.

Agreed. Bioware actually had a good thing going, then Casey Hudson just ****ing noped everything.

Do you know  how damn epic it  would have been to  be a in serious fire fight and Geth Primes, Colossi, and  Amatuers  air drop in and  start putting in work. ...

Hudson: BUT THAT WOULD BE TOO VIDEO GAMEY WHO WANTS THAT???

Bioware should honestly just retcon the entire ending. I'm sorry, I had no problem for the EC, but this just breaks the camels back. The fact that it sounds like they were going to do JUST want not only I, but everyone, wanted and instead did a 180 and gave us this......TURD.

No. Sorry. Retcon it.

A suicide mission style earth mission would've been epic. Might not have been able to make it work with limited time/resources.

That's DLC I'd pay for though.

I've seen that thing the writer-who-may-or-may-not-be-Weekes was saying about cinematics of your resources working for you, but all of that would happen before Shepard meets the Catalyst. It wouldn't change the actual resolution, which is the crap part.

Hopefully these will make it into the EC. This does show that BW planned a better ending but ran out of time and probably couldn't get a release extension.   By having this work already paied for that gives them budget for other VO work.

I've moved on from the anger stage...  I'm hoping the EC is good and ends the Mass Effect series like it should have ended:  On a brilliant high note

Reading the Weekes interview just makes it even worse for BioWare when it comes to Hudson. It used to be that I would be watching Hudson and buying the games used until he proves this was just a one-time thing. This interview is basically making it really hard to not say that literally anything and everything Hudson has any association with will wind up being bought used at $20 or less, or not bought at all.

It doesn't make me lose respect for BioWare as a whole, just Hudson and (to a slightly lesser extent) Walters. The PR is what made BioWare lose my respect and a potential spot on my "don't buy from" blacklist.

Agreed.  Yes, I would like to see additional scenes like this for Priority: Earth, because P:E was incredibly underwhelming, but far and away the first priority for EC is fixing the ending - the nonsensical dialogue with Starchild, the vague and confusing cutscenes following from RBG, and the travesty of the Normandy's desertion and stranding on Planet Eden.  I would much rather have a revision "clarifying" that the Normandy did not, in fact, desert me, followed by a reunion with my crew and LI, than have Bioware focus all their time and resources on P:E.  Yeah, it sucks, but there are bigger fish to fry here.

That said, if this stuff has already been recorded, there's absolutely no reason not to put it in game, but I just don't want Bioware to think we'll be happy if they add some krogan fighting on kakliosaurs and otherwise fail to fix everything that happens after Starchild.

In a way im glad this was cut from the game. It would just have felt even worse getting kicked in the ****** by starjar if you had to listen to this first

The only thing worse than something shi*t is something sh*t that could have been good.

Mike and Patrick have already said that a lot of this never belonged to any specific content.

They recorded a lot of stuff just on the chance that they could find a use for it somewhere, and they simply never ended up needing it.

Agreed, there is much bigger issues with the ending that the sloppy P:Earth mission.  If they can squeeze in expanding that mission great, but the,  "nonsensical dialogue with Starchild, the vague and confusion cutscenes following from RBG, and the travesty of the Normandy's desertion and stranding on Planet Eden." all must be addressed as well for the EC to be a sucess.

Sooo...where could this POSSIBLY have fitted in then? All the dialogue sounds like something you would say in the end. It's not coincidence that all the cut dialogue sounds like that.

Especially Grunts.
