Mike and Patrick have already said that a lot of this never belonged to any specific content.

They recorded a lot of stuff just on the chance that they could find a use for it somewhere, and they simply never ended up needing it.

Oh, they needed it. Boy, did they need it.

I also find it ridiculous that this was touted as a 'KotOR 2' style cut. KotOR 2 had no ending and a massive treasure trove of cut content. ME3 had a more-or-less complete (albeit terrible) ending with a few dropped plot threads and dialogues.

I am not surprised, I am sure there is probably a lot more planned and maybe even voiced or half completed that unless there is a leak we will never know about. I knew after playing ME3 that they had something epic planned, the ending we got was because they ran out of time and slapped together something quick to get the game out. As the link says KOTOR 2 style, because the ending of that game and ME3 are just to much alike as far as something half finished and  pushed out the door because they hit a deadline.

BAHAHAHA, so why is it on the disc?

Sound files? Really? If it was recorded on the "off chance" it would be in an archive, not on the disc.

How is that helping with anything? When, while typing all of that that, it made any sense?

At which point in history saying "Well, it wasn't cut from the game, they simply didn't use it!, you silly!" became some sort of magic spell that makes everything filled with candy and cake?

I want that promised "Take Earth Back" moment. I wanted them to frikkin copy their excellent Suicide Mission from ME2, just with choosing races instead of specialists, and with cutscenes showing how my choices and progress affect the outcome.

yeah, at this point I'm not even remotely surprised. Wasn't it obvious it was rushed?

Hudson: BUT THAT WOULD BE TOO VIDEO GAMEY WHO WANTS THAT???
Everyone else:

I remember reading the quote about how he didn't want it too video gamey, and absolutely physically slapping myself in the face. saying you don't want your VIDEO GAME to be video gamey is like saying you don't want a film to be filmy or a book to be booky. While I understand what Hudson meant, criticizing something in a video game for being too video gamey is the epitome of idiocy.

I want to say, however, that I am not calling Hudson an idiot. I'm calling what he SAID idiotic. Very big difference. Hudson is a very smart guy, there's tons of evidence for that, and I have the utmost of respect for him and his work. But in this instance, he did a very stupid thing and said a very stupid thing.

Additionally, if this cut content isn't put into the EC, the last of adoration I have for the ME series will have flown out the window, and the only way that Bioware will ever hope to redeem themselves in my eyes is by making DA3 the greatest RPG known to man.

Removed due to artistic integrity. Wait, it's vision nowadays. That's correct. Don't worry. I will lay this down on the pile of rubble I already have piled up anything Mass Effect related.

The "Too videogame-y" quote was never used in that context. Stop twisting the truth.

ME2 had plenty of cut stuff too. where is the initiative to restore it, uh?

Not really twisting the truth here...Hudson referred the boss battle as being too video gamey. Instead, he took this ****ty intellectual approach. Given how horrible and flat the entire mission was, I think it's perfectly fair to assume that Hudson's reaction to a game with all that stuff mentioned would've been along the lines of "too video gamey"

And ME2 didn't cut content that would've made the game 100x better. That's why there's no initiative.

I was not attempting to twist the truth into saying that the quote was about the ending. I was simply talking about my reaction of him citing things he wasn't too fond of because they were too video gamey. In terms of your argument about restoring things to ME2, ME2 didn't have cut content that turned the ending into a mess.

Don't try to call a duck a pig.

It does give some credence to the idea that at least part of the ending we got was a late revision. However, all of this is pre-Citadel and I've never had much complaint in that area. That final ground-side mission felt a bit rushed, but within tolerable limits. I agree that the cut material could have been a tremendous boost to it, but cutting it makes it feel less like a ME2 rehash, which could likely have been the intent. I'm disappointed at its loss, but can get my head around good reasons for doing it. The problem is that BioWare ain't sayin', so we're back to speculations for all.

This is no different than the other 2 games, even mass effect 1. The only difference is that people are actually now actively trying to find stuff to complain about. Every single piece of entertainment has had pieces of it cut for practicality purposes, whether that be for the page numbers in a book, the run-time of a song, the length of a movie, or yes, the amount of coding for a video game.

News flash, things get cut all the time, that's why dvd's are able to have that section called "deleted scenes" in them, what exactly made you think mass effect was any different?
