Does it matter if Shepherd lived?

What really matters to me, is whether that clip matters in the future.
If bioware, or anyone in the know, is reading this: Assuming you keep making games set in the ME universe, and assuming you keep the "import save" feature, will that clip have ANY effect on future games?
If it's just a video, then fine, I don't care that much; I've seen it on YouTube. However, if Shepherd living or dying is a variable in the save, then I want to have it. It's the ending I earned (my EMS was 5900 when I returned to earth).
I kinda hope it's just a clip though, because I reeeally don't feel like replaying several hours of a game I just played solely for that. I'm playing on Insanity, and the London mission alone makes me want to tear my hair out. It took me four hours to play through it. I don't want my last experience with this trilogy to be one of frustration. Friggin banshees lol.

From what I hear you need to choose the Destroy option and have EMS of 4000 I believe. Not completely sure about this though

It matters to me if he lives or not, I invested too much into this to have my hero die at the end

I'm missing the short clip of Shepherd being alive at the end of the game. I've lost out because I didn't get the neccessary EMS until after attacking cerberus HQ. I kinda feel cheated since there was never any message telling me that I had to be ready _before_ earth. A lot of people seem to have done the same mistake I did.

I assume that its not a variable in your save game. Because after tou finish the game and Shepard appears on SR2 again for you to play the DLCs that are goin to be released, the "Play Time" on your Auto Save jumps 1-3 hours backwards and it goes before the "point of no return".

When you get to the point of no return, it creates a save file, after you beat the game, it just reloads from that save, that's why time jumps back.
