I remember when I played vanilla DA:O more than two years ago, I was able to duplicate the items you get for free from various DLCs (collectors edition, blood dragon plate etc).
I did it by saving the game, exiting to main menu, disabling the DLCs, force-loading the saved game, saving it again, then re-enabling the DLCs.
Most important for me was duplicating the tome which gives extra 3 attribute points when read. Just a few times, to give a small boost in power for my hero, not to totally break the challenge.
Tried it today with DA: Ultimate Edition and patch 1.05 and it no longer seems to work - when I re-enable the DLC addons, the items do not re-appear in my inventory. Am I doing something wrong? Dragon Age Wiki suggests you still can duplicate these items, but maybe nobody bothered to update the Wiki since then?
