I'm level 13 atm, got assassin at 7 but I cannot decide what to take at 14.
I was thinking of Duelist, but also Bard with the high cunning should be good since I could boost my attack and crit rate.
Also the duelist spec will increase my damage by 1 and also the +2 to dex will help me reach 25 for evasion and let me have +2 more cunning.
Any suggestion?
Cunning based rogue: assassin + ???

I dont think cunning works for melee weapons, not sure on ranged though. I keep adding to cuning and my damage is not going up.

With talents, yes it adds damage:
Lethality

Take bard, song of courage scales with cunning, and increases your attack, and cunning based rogues have attack rating issues. Unless, of course, you keep Leiliana in your group, in which case she can provide that for you.

since youre a cunning based rogue, you should be dealing damage and not taking any, by getting rid of aggro with stealth and relying on enemies attacking your party members for backstabs
thus either bard or ranger are both better than duelist, as if your cunning is high enough you get a better +attack bonus than duelist with song of courage (and you dont need the defense bonus), or you could go for ranger for a 5th party member and use that for less aggro/more backstabs
