Certainly beating something obviously overpowered is very fun, but i don't want to reload a lot each time i start a new game and leave lothering.
Some people here just use all the overpowered stuff in this game (CoC, FF...) and then complain that the game is too easy, and disappointed when bioware fix unscaled battle. well....

I just installed this and I can't area transition anymore. As in I walk to the exit of any area, the world map never pops up and nothing happens. I'm currently stuck in Soldier's Peak with no way out but I've tried older saves and I can't leave Camp either.
I was screwing around in the toolset earlier today (creating custom items) and I'm running a few mods but even if I disable them all, I still can't area transition. Just to check, nobody else is getting this problem with 1.02 right?
Known issue that has been around. Under "modules" delete the "single player" folder (Note this is the one under your "My Documents\\\\Bioware ..." folder, not the main game one). It gets generated automatically whenever you use the toolset. I had the exact same problem and found the fix on the forums. You will have to remove that folder each time you use the toolset.
There might be another solution but that is the only one I have found so far and it works fine.
Um, did that and it deleted the Warden armor you get from Soldier's Peak.

"An error occured applying the 1.02 update to your version of Dragon Age: Origins. [36]"
And in a seperate window, there is a black box with green writing that says:
"Running External Installer for 'RT Patch'... This may take a few moments -36"
HELP!!! ANYBODY WHO KNOWS HOW TO GET THIS TO WORK?

For anyone who had the ''not be able to play'' issue while downloading the first patch, do you have this problem with patch 1.02?
Does the downlaodable content show up in the download tabs( If it didn't before offcourse, really wanna download the dlc >_>).
thanks in advance,

Come on, add that capability to the PC to "audibly" speak when a choice is picked.

haha same here. At lvl 6, i got ambush by those wolf after leaving Lothering and i got defeated. So i start using the Pause and it help a lot on lots of thing that make any encounter a challenge without having to reload.sorrow_13th wrote...
maybe they should give more detail, what battle was not scaled properly? i hope they fix the random wolf battle. Well my lv 7 party leave Lothering and is raped by a bunch of wolf, all with overwhelm. overwhelm is a tier 4 war hound talent and mind you that dog gains 1 talent point/3 lv. omg, i have to try about 10 times to beat these wolf from hell (not counting reloading to get that specific random battle, i determined to kill these bastards =.=)

@Oliver Sudden
Couldn't resist asking... this Revenant that's giving you trouble... He's not by anychance a particularly cocky chap with a daft hood on his head that lives in a shaby house which may be desribed as "quaint" and generally alley-esque is it? (Went to greaty lengths to drop a hint without giving off a nasty little spoiler...)
One for the console vs pc battle, I'm sorry but i will never understand this so I must ask... The console guy n gals, why oh why would you get DA:O a pretty boldly stated RPG for PS3/XBX? It's like trying to play Tekken on a keyboard, or an FPS with a joy pad, basically not really meant to be done, and PC people, ok Sora Kitano is gutted not to get the console patch when we got it, its understandable, this game is addictive, but unless your tower just turned its nose up in disgust or indignation and locked itself in the bathroom for a good sulk, why attack him and others likeminded? We're all gamers right, we all like to have uniform support, and I know a lot of pc users would be gutted if the foot was on the other hand. While I agree with a previous poster that DA:O for console isnt the best choice, I think this console vs pc thing is getting old, dominating forums and draging posts off topic for no good reason. Console lads/lasses u might have to wait a little longer for the patch, and its a wrench, I feel you there but at least there is one
Let's all get back to the job at hand and give some props to Bioware for 3 hotfix/patches in the space of a month, that actually appear to have made a difference to the game quality. That's damn good support I reckon, especially since Bioware may have slightly dropped the bal on ME support by comparison. Finally while I'm getting a bit impatient about the (alledged, benefit of the doubt just got win7 x64) memory leak thing , and the hi rez texture patches, I'm pretty pleased that the dagger fix is in there now, as I am a dual dagger rogue for next playthrough, and I think that the spell changes will actually make for more compelling and well thought out gaming compared to freeezing foes non stop. and look forward to really getting to grips with better strategies against foes like high dragons [it's rather more difficult to take down a dragon now and new approaches seem appealing

I got ambushed hell of a lot of times by them wolves myself, and their innate ability to plant traps in my path didnt help anymore than my choice to return to Ferelden when Sten and Alistair where pretty badly wounded
