Disagree. This patch sends an important message, that being: An unbalanced game is Not Okay. Getting some of these mage spells nerfed is a Very Good Thing and i say that as a mage player. Similar reasoning behind fixing the exp exploit, i suspect. Also i want potion chugging nerfed.Staylost wrote...
Please fix bugs like strength-shapeshifter and healing-effects-recieved before fixing avoidable exploits like infinite-experience-gain, and definitely before re-balancing abilities like Mage spells.
All these things need done, but this is a single player game. Fix the game ruining bugs before exploits & nerfing that people can currently avoid if they wish.

Is that the Revenant from the graves in the forest? If it is thats why I am not going to patch my game either..... They are tough mothers......I have killed 2 of them but havn't been able to beat the third one yet.
The ones by themselves aren't too bad, but all those darn (snicker) archers they spawn and all the other folk my party has to contend with ... well, I can understand why being able to save in the middle of a fight would make things easier!

Need some help, I keep getting the following error message when I try to install patch 1.02.
"An error occured applying the 1.02 update to your version of Dragon Age: Origins. [36]"
And in a seperate window, there is a black box with green writing that says:
"Running External Installer for 'RT Patch'... This may take a few moments -36"
Any ideas what this is? The green status bar at the top stops at around a fourth of the way through and doesn't go any further.
I got the same error message. How did you fix yours ?

As for the spells that got "nerfed". Forcefield itself was fine so it's odd they went this route, I would have figured just having the character that had FF on it lose all aggro would have been a better solution since it's main exploit was sticking on a companion who had high aggro and let the enemies wail on them in vain. Crushing Prison was another I thought was fine before but whatever, still seems semi-useful. CoC needed to get fixed bad and I haven't tried Blizzard yet, everything I've read said it was already a pretty poor skill so not sure the need to nerf it.

Do any of the patch changes require starting a new game or will all of them work for exisiting games?
They all seem to work fine, I used it on my current game with no problems and the obvious chances have kicked in.

I didn't, that's why I was posting. Wanted to know why it's doing that.

Also agree with this:

I have a question: are targets in force field no longer targetable as they should be? The problem was never cooldown or duration imo.

That would be fine if npcs didn't keep attacking them making force field a tanking spell, which it should not be.
Yeah essentially the main problem and exploit remains with FF, it's just instead of being continuous you have to keep them alive for 10 secs before casting it again, but since they're still targetable they can be healed back to full health once the field collapses so that's not really an issue. I'm all for balance and such but got to do it right.

I like the increased regeneration, dagger fix, and shimmering shield fix.
But mage nerfs, lesser health potions on enemies, etc.? These changes aren't needed in a single player CRPG and theres so many bugs that can be fixed instead (bows, forcefield untargetable, memory leak)
I also find it funny the spell nerfs are to stop being stunlocked...when enemy archers constantly stunlocked my dual wielding warrior. (Can't even attack when bear trapped? come on!)
