To clarify, if you download patch 1.02, you automatically get the material of the previous patches. This saves people having to download patches 1.01-1.49 before they download 1.50 (in the future anyways). :)

OMG!?!?! this patch is from the future??? when will 1.50 unlock?

Only when the PC players stop thinking their crap is as golden as their wizz.

ehm yeah there are those  but most are perfectly decent people

...anyways I  will be glad when the console patch is released, sure it will be awhile but hey it is better then nothing, besides bioware, unlike other companies, are pretty good with patching up issues and not oh say leaving issues such as "loaded doors" and um add ons conflicting with each other

Why only PC / console not patched / why not hold up PC:

For the same reason we would not hold back a needed console patch just because a PC patch was not ready at that time - these are completely independent of one another.   In addition, with this particular case, many of the fixes are already in the console version at launch (as the PC version was complete by then) and these are now making their way back from console.

Patch page / I said a patch to 'all' versions would be avail Monday:

No, I'm pretty sure I did not say that.  Each week I've been posting a brief update and I think I've been pretty clear (or at least have been trying) to separate what is a PC patch (now on 1.02, with work on 1.03 underway) and Console update (likely to be dubbed update #1 as we get closer, which I did mention was also underway) - these are completely different dev threads and I would expect will continue to release independent of one another as they become available (at least for now).

Hope that helps.

Won't be touching this patch. I just started a Normal game and don't want the battles nerfed for the kiddies.

lololol

Does it mean they will end up never patching every again ? He he. I'm a bit sad this came after i finished my 2 mage party first run through. Now i will forever feel like i played on easy mode. I had only one mage with coc though. Didn't even notice the cooldown was too short.

normaly i would make some irrate post about screwing PC users by not giving them updates, but putting games and patches on a console is a real pain in the ass, legaly speaking. so i guess you guys made the right call and i'll just have to sit here and be happy.

and i got a tool set anyway so i suppose the console users should at least get something out of it.

i mean the game is pretty good so whats the point in gettign angry right? the patch is out now and its all water under the bridge.

P.S. HA i beat you all to it, you cant get angry now since i got all apologetic and crap! now all the angry people have to suck it up and watch as people level wave after wave of praise upon bioware for a wonderful patch. HAHAHA!!!

I don't agree that making force fielded characters untargetable will balance the spell, it will just make it exploitable in different ways - for example using high agro/damage AOE spells or archer shots to decimate enemy lines then force fielding your mage/archer so enemies go after your tank instead.

I think that's perfectly fine, remember force field still takes your character offline for a bit, so you get some AOE and then can't do anything for a while.  This is far better than making tanks invulnerable.  It's also got a pretty long cooldown for using it solely to manage aggro, likely you've got a tank that's able to deal with that better.

On a related note, your characters should not be able to target enemies that are force fielded either.  It's always annoying when your characters switch targets to them.

Surely making FF characters / enemies untargetable would break one of the spell combos?

i hope this fixes the 'tab' key problem. whenever you hold down 'tab' key through conversation or any transitions, the game stops highlighting properly like names or books. you have to 'toggle' the tab key in order to fix it.

Am I the only one with a problem with this patch. Once I installed patch 1.2, I run the DA game and on the main screen I tried to log in but say not connected to internet. Then I went to windows and my internet keep disconnecting and connecting (while the game is running). I exit the game and my connection gets fix. I tried this a couple of times even turning off DA updater. And It keeps doing same thing.

I am also no longer able to log in to my account in DA - It keeps telling me that I have no Internet connection yet I am downloading some files as I post this on the same PC.

You are not the only one having this issue :(

Denerim marketplace...the only place my framerate CRAWLS and STUTTERS...as if my ram/cpu cought altzheimer...is this a bug/memory leak or something? Has it been discussed already?

And may I point out that MANY of the items/sets are useless as their core buff is maximizing health % recived?

CoC - never froze higher ranking enemies for more that 2-3 secs (barely enough to cast a buff/debuff or heal). So whats the deal with the tweak? Why is it there?

You could get rid of the glowing marker above soldiers peak quest giver in the camp. Irritates me every time I'm back at camp. I talked to him, heard his story, now let him rot in the bushes, DO NOT remind me theres a dlc every time again and again.

  • Daggers now apply 0.5 points of damage per additional
point in dexterity and 0.5 points of damage per additional point in
strength, as originally intended. This increases dagger damage for
    high-dexterity characters.
  • During combat, mana or
stamina reserves now correctly regenerate more quickly when reserves
are low. This allows players to occasionally use an talent or spell in
the later stages of lengthy fights.
  • When exploring, mana and stamina now regenerate more quickly at higher character levels. This reduces downtime between fights.
  • The
spells Force Field, Crushing Prison, Cone of Cold, and Blizzard now
have shorter durations and/or longer cooldowns. This ensures that
combatants can no longer stun-lock each other by repeatedly casting the
    same spell.
  • The cooldowns for several low-level
sustained abilities are now shorter. This ensures that players are not
    penalized for accidentally deactivating them.
  • Certain battles were not scaling properly, resulting in excessively difficult fights. They now scale as intended.
  • Enemy corpses now drop health poultices and money more appropriately, resulting in less clutter in the player's inventory.

The dagger thing is very good. The health poultices, I don't know.
Everything else is rubbish? I mean, aren't these changes just supposed to make the game easier than it already is? I am already playing at Nightmare difficulty to have just a little bit of challenge, for the Maker's sake! And things are being made easier? :/

odd never had this. and i use high texture mod with 512mb card...

huh??

it was comically op. ask anyone who solod mage thru nightmare or any such thing. the issue wasnt higher ranking enemies it was being able to permafreeze all whites.

could just turn off the hint thingy :P

"Certain battles were not scaling properly, resulting in excessively difficult fights. They now scale as intended." Noo! I loved how random difficulty sometimes was. Other than that good to know Bioware fixes things in timely manner.

Ohh and can I just apply patch on my 1.00 version? I didn't dare to patch my game before with 1.01x patches to not mess anything as I was still on my first playthrough.

You can use the toolset just fine without breaking your game right now. Just don't open the Single Player module. For whatever reason, when you enable it, it exports a bunch of data to the My Docs\\\\Bioware\\\\Dragon Age\\\\modules\\\\Single Player folder, which overrides the normal stuff. Problem is, where it gets this data from is a bunch of pre-loaded data that came with the toolset installation and its horribly outdated, so it overrides all kinds of text in the game with blank strings (like the entire main menu..) and makes you unable to navigate the map. If you just delete that Single Player folder that was created (NOT the main one in the game's regular install path...) by the toolset, then everything should work happily again.

There's a lot you can do with the toolset without having to look at those files.

I've seen quite a few posts where even when they used that fix, their game as still corrupted. Better to be safe thean sorry.

And anyways, I've been put under the impression that any mods made now would also have that messed up data, so once it does get fixed I would have to redo whatever mod I made.

I think it's a known memory leak problem.  I've seen others posting about it.  And I'm pretty sure its not because my system can't handle it, I'm running an i7 920 at 3.4GHz, 6GB DDR3 RAM, and GTX 275 with 896MB RAM.

I only encounter it if I have been playing for 3hrs or more.   Any less and I don't seem to run into it.

Doesn't happen to my system and I'm running lower specs than your machine. Could be either its a corrupted install or compatibility with certain video cards.

So why exactly does increased cooldown / decreased uptime of CoC etc make the game easier ?

Theres a fanmod out there that makes nightmare harder, by the way.
