I'm glad things are being fixed. Will us console users get this patch anytime soon?

Pretty much the whole update brings the PC version to par with the console version. There are very few PC-specific fixes in this patch.

In other words: console users started with these "fixes".

Oh, including the mage and dagger fixes? Thanks for answering!

Errr you are incorrect sir.

From Bioware themselves "Work is continuing on an Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 version of this patch. Work is also continuing on fixing more issues for the next patch."

Not fix the serious problems, but throw in nerfs for the most popular class?

Ok, I understand. See, they have had their initial sales on DAO. But on January 26 they release Mass Effect 2. So, we are supposed to be finished with DAO by then.

One way to get players off of DAO is to get large numbers of mages to rage quit.

Elementary, my dear Watson!

When I done with DAO I'll now move onto MW2 & L4D2, rather than do my 2nd playthrough as a nerfed mage.

you can easily return your mage to its original broken state with a mod.

you realise its still like 100x more powerful than the other classes though right?

Can we re-apply mods after the patch? The only one I have is the No Hat and I think I'll throw up If I have to see my party running around with hats all the time....

Are people actually ragequitting over the mage nerf? Gravedancing over the mages' apparent misfortune?

Have we been infected with WoW?

*big boggle*

Reverting the spell changes should take anybody no more than an hour... if I am not feeling too lazy, I'll put up a mod for it... it's not as if they hardcoded the changes.

Seriously, if you have your panties in a bunch over this, maybe you SHOULD go back to WoW...

You're free to try.  Remember, user-generated content is not supported by BioWare or EA.  You use it at your own risk.  If it breaks v1.02, then you'll have to fix it.

Oh man, they nerfed mages but made the game easier by giving easier battles and more potions.

LMAO I won't be downloading this thing.

That change in stamina regen - does it apply to enemies, too?

One of my main tactics right now is to use poison that saps stamina (-10 Stamina per hit) and then fight an enemy who can't do anything but auto-attack.

Nobody need cry. Just don't install the patch. Or install and fix your spells. :D

I love the MMO attitude in here. It's hilarious.

I sure hope I saved my longbows in my Wardens chest. I have a feeling that leliana is going to be much weaker when I get home. I have her setup as straight "DEX + Shortbow" using the unofficial dex hotfix. (Shortbows get everything from dex.) I assume now, this has been reverted?

Or maybe the devs will release a "bow only" hotfix for 1.02. You know, add in the stuff that was not included in this official patch?

they FIXED battles and potions. doesnt mean easier battles and more potions. the battles one is likely denerim alleys which would only be affected if you do them at a low level

ARG. LONGBOWS AND SHORTBOWS WERE NEVER BUGGED. Georg just rebalanced them as he wished.

Exactly. What a shame.

If you don't like the (old) effects of Force Field, do what I do: don't use it. The solution is simple, even without a patch.

But if you don't like how weak the Shapeshifter line is... tough luck. Wait for the next patch. Or the one after.

Patches should focus on fixing skills that need a boost, rather than eliminating ones some players feel others shouldn't use.

Your "fix" is my "nerf" :P

Like I said, this is a single-player game. The notion of unwanted "nerfing" and "crying" just doesn't apply. Mod the game how you want: make freeze 10x longer, make battles 10x easier, it doesn't matter. Not an MMO. I guarantee the community will just mod all the spells back to their original stats in a day anyway.

"Wah, wah, the game's too easy"

"Okay, here's the nerfs to the things we overlooked in v1.0, so you can try different strategies and see if the game is any harder"

*prior to installing the patch* "OMFG THE GAME IS GOING TO BE IMPOSSIBLE!!!"

Just a reminder - any files you might have in the packages\\\\core\\\\override directories from mods made on 1.02 or early WILL interfere with this patch and should be deleted.

Thanks for the heads up ....Now I'll make sure that I DON'T update after all the stratergizing I have done so far.
The mods fixed all your stupid gameplay quarks....5 years in the making??????  How much are you charging for the "fix"?????

I think Chain Lightning needs to be nerfed a bit as well. It's a party killer.

I'd like to know why it's so good against the party but so bad when used by the party. I was hoping for a fix to make it scale with spellpower.

ARG I never said they were bugged.  I'm in no place to complain and I am not.  I am aware that I was using an unofficial hotfix.  I simply became accustomed to his mod.  I will just have to readjust my playstyle equipment or wait for another hotfix.  Sorry if I unintentionally hit a nerve there, sheesh.

Plot *Spoiler Warning*

* Repeatedly talking to Duncan after gathering the vials in the Korcari Wilds but not the treaties no longer provides duplicate experience.

/facepalm

Why exactly did they bother fixing this on PC when any PC user can use the console to instantly rise himself or herself to level 25? It seems rather silly......why would any PC user even bother to repeatedly talk to duncan for level-up XP?

Besides it's an alternative to the fact we have no New Game+ so why would they take that away?

sorry tired of people whining they were bugged when they never were. that hotfix can either be recreated or may well even work fine even over the patch (dont blame me if it doesnt :P)

I must be missing something, what's wrong with mods that override core files?

Nothing.  Just remove them from the override directory before installing the patch.  Then you can put them back.

So, they should have fixed it for XBox 360 and PS3, but left that code out from the PC version, just to keep you from raising an eyebrow, then? Not following the logic there. Plus, not everyone is a tech-wiz on the PC to open consoles and mess with cheat codes. Some people just bump into this stuff naturally and go "whoopie! Exploit!"

Maybe it's suffering a bad case of scattershot ? Or is it overwhelm ?
