Chris Priestly wrote...

As people have pointed out, Mike Gamble has said on his Twitter account
that we are investigating this . When we have information on it, we will
let everyone know.

You can also post this topic, if it has not already been posted, in the technical support forum for your platform.

LOCKDOWN!

Apparently, now that they are "investigating" we are no longer allowed to discuss this on the more often viewed General section, and it is relegated to the tech support sections for further discussion, so let's keep it going.

While I do play and enjoy MP, (and would enjoy it more if we actually got the operations), that is not the point; the point is this pre-release quote:

Mike Gamble (Associate Producer)
http://www.nowgamer....ry_details.html
"Of course you don’t have to play multiplayer, you can choose to play
all the side-quests in single-player and do all that stuff you’ll
still get all the same endings and same information, it’s just a
totally different way of playing"

Now this has been repeatedly proven by datamining to NOT be the case (you need either MP or the apps - some of us do have Androids instead of iOS, Bioware), and now, nearly 2 months after release, all we get is "We're investigating.  Lockdown!"  (To see the main thread, http://social.biowar.../index/10481662)

Bioware, please resolve this issue as soon as possible.  Many of us really would like to trust you again.  And when you are fixing this problem, bear in mind that those of us on PS3 completely miss out on Conrad/Hossle/Dilinaga/Elkoss 5 WA points, Zhu's Hope 30 WA points, and Major Kirrahe 20 WA points.

An idea for "fixing" this (fixing in quotes because I believe it was done intentionally to give MP weight);

If possible, BioWare should patch in that New Game+ adds in a [fill in the blank named] War Asset that is worth like 1000. This would forever allow players that don't wish to play MP the ability to not play MP. For MP players this is still a reward because it can give them the option to ignore fetch quests for WA on their next playthru.

With the WA that are in the game, this New Game+ reward would be all that was needed to resolve the issue and yet still keep the intended design (which was to give MP weight).

So... They're claiming this is a bug? Why did they direct us to the technical support forums?

As I said in my group about this, making us post about this in here is a bit of a neat trick when you think about it. Who are the people this affects most? Console users who aren't connected to the internet. And if they aren't connected to the internet, they can't register their game. And if they can't register their game, they can't post here. Voilà! Less complaints.

Come on Bioware, let's have a proper official statement from a dev about this issue and not heresay about a tweet that Mike Gamble sent a while ago to some fan.

This is still an issue that a lot of people would like to see addressed!

I found an interesting article from the Financial Post that's related to our issue.

The
author talks about the new EA mission to implement "online universes"
in all it's games, and specifically mentions ME3's Galaxy at War system.

In that part of the article, he says, "It isn’t necessarily about doing all of those secondary things to get
the best results, but the game certainly implies that it is."

I thought I should let him know that, in fact, it's not just implied but actually true.

Please read the article for my actual comment, as I'm not sure there may be issues with me posting it here.
I don't think so... but it's better to be safe than sor...er.. banned.  *sigh*

(Don't worry, I don't rage or anything)

It's kind of a non-issue to me since I love multiplayer, but anywho I'm guessing the DLC will fix the problem for some when it comes out, but for the rest who don't have internet connection... I don't know how you live without it! But yeah...I wish it wasn't like that though, it'd be nice if there was more then enough assets to get the best ending like was promised.

I thought people might find this interesting..... "Evil" Chris Priestly
admits himself, via Twitter, that the Tech forums are for users helping
users and that Bioware devs don't have anything to do with them....

http://twitter.com/#...912559911022594

So what can we conclude about the way EA/Bioware views our issue?

Yup...  stay classy guys....

When the game was released last March I was infuriated that I could not amass 4000 EMS in SP. I did all the sidequest/missions. Have no interest in MP initially, and was forced to try it out so to increase my galactic readiness from 50%. Ironically what I detest about MP turned into something which I did not expect. I enjoyed it pretty much. Been hooked into MP ever since :)

The MP is good but it shouldn't have been forced onto players. Bioware specifically made a promise that you can get all ending variations by just playing SP only.. This is clearly not the case.

Agreed, it's not an issue of liking or disliking MP, it's being forced to play MP ...

I'm definitely not playing ME3 on my PS3 until they get this fixed. I will not ever play multi-player and if they don't fix this I'm never buying another game from either of them. I'm so glad I ditched the CE version for the PS3 and got a discounted copy.

It's crystal clear where EA is leading BioWare - they can make more money off the "micro-transactions" from their games than they ever will without it. EA's CEO has said as much.

Yea it's become more and more clear that the less than 8000 overall war assets was intended by Bioware to force MP onto the hardcore fanbase. They break promises so they can get a couple of bucks off of micro-transactions.

I'm proud to say I never used real money to buy those MP packs.
