Patch doesn't really fix any technical issues which it seems most people were complaining about. Things like memory leaks, load times, crashes, DLC issues and shale bugs.

Yeah, this "fix' seems more like a tweak to gameplay, not an actual bug fix.

Very dissapointed, Shale/WK bug has been public for almost a month!

The Shale/WK bug is still present.

If Bio would at least tell us if they believe it to be fixable or not, that would be great. No point in keeping savegames that are fubar.

No news on an ATI fix? What about the memory leak?

Beyond the obvious dex and Bann Teagan bugs, nothing much there. Disappointing.

Many ATI cards owners (myself included) get really weird artifacts and complete repeatable CTDs that can only be fixed by doing weird things such as underclocking cards or playing in low graphics mode.

Personally once I start getting the CTDs I either have to restart my computer (clearing RAM doesn't work) or switch to a lower graphics setting.

I guess the already broken savegames can be considered lost. I'll start a new game soon (with 1.02 applied) and hopefully the Shale/WK issues won't occur again.

sounds way more likely to be an ATI bug honestly, especially the artifacts. games would have to mess up pretty bad to do that only on some cards...hopefully since da is new ATI will bother to fix it

Make that new &succesfull enough.. I heard past few years about games who got bugged by problems with the vid cards, but because of the fact people abandoned the games due to the problems with the cards the card producers didn't care anymore to help...

But I hope the same...

Or the memory leak, which exacerbates the long load times.

Possibly. It's kind of hard to tell since neither Bioware or ATI has commented on it that I have seen. What we DO know is that since release, we havn't gotten a new set of Cats from ATI, but we have gotten patches from Bioware, however this recent one doesn't appear to have ANY fixes along these lines, so it's still sort of up in the air as to whether its a driver problem that ATI needs to fix, or a something Bioware needs to address.

Given the complete lack of fixes in this regard in this patch, I have my fingers crossed that the fixes Fernando referred to as being pulled from this patch for 1.03, are going to be things along those lines. It would make sense I suppose... rebalance stuff shouldnt take long to get done, but tracking down this other stuff might prove challenging, and I could see them deciding to go ahead and release the balance updates while they continue hunting down the crash and other technical issues.

Or maybe I am being naive. Who knows.

releasing another dlc at this point ( as planned ) would be the equivalent of commiting suicide since the first one don't even seem to be fixed yet...

Eh, you would think so, but the thing is:

1) There are plenty of people having no problems at all. As evidenced by the large amount of people that insist on posting in every thread in the tech support forum that they aren't having issues. Which is funny to me, because if I wasn't having issues, I would be playing the game, not walking around looking for people to tell that I wasn't having issues ;)

2) More importantly, development doesn't always have to be a zero sum game. The guys creating new content are not necessarily the same guys working on bug-fixes.

Within 5 seconds of my first 'fight' since the patch? I am saddened. The combat lag issue is still quite prevalent. Game breaking bug is ignored but fluff is added. I do hope some of the fixes helped -some- people at least. They certainly didn't do anything for me; back to waiting another month before I can finish DA:Origins. Thanks EA/Bioware! for nothing. :]

Hi all,

So what do you think? good? bad? more than enough, not enough?

comment!

Not enough, please fix the PC related technical issues, which I thought was the original plan for patch 1.02.  I understand that most likely the bugs turned out to be trickier than you guys originally thought, but I definitely won't be happy until I can play this game without having to quit out of it every half hour.

Before this latest patch, I didn't have any major issues except for the memory leak but ever since I updated this morning I've had 3 crashes in the last hour.

the vid card problem is not just ATI its industry wide and has to do with idling functions built into video cards to conserve power. You can update your drivers and apply patches but the problem will not go away because the root of the problem is hardware. You can use third party software to alter your video card bios and underclock your card or force to always run at max performance which does solve most of these crashes BUT you also run the risk of bricking your card/computer.

yikes! It looks like this nerfs my very focussed frost/energy mage that I'm playing, so I see no reason to install....

Not interested unless they finally fix the extremely long reload times.
