I liked DA2. Not on the level of Origins, but it was fun. I also was pretty honest about buying ME3 no matter how it looked. As a concept, it was too original to ignore.

Soul is still recovering from the abomination that was not only the end of ME3 but the trilogy i sank hours of my life into. First and Last time i pre-order from Bioware EA and no amount of Extended Cut DLC will change that...

Ok who said after dragon age 2 that they would never buy a bioware product again and then bought ME3?

I promised I wouldn't buy DA3 but still buy ME3 since they had different teams. sigh :crying:

Not me.

I thought DA2 was disappointing, but I've always been a bigger fan of Mass Effect than Dragon Age.

I didn't buy DA2.

I would have fallen into buying ME3 if it hadn't been for Origin, but it seems I was lucky that EA's own marketing shenanigans stopped me from wasting those money.

No way I'm gonna fall for DA3.

I liked DA2, flawed but not a terrible game as some like to claim. I also liked ME3, despite being let down by the ending.

That said, I'll be buying DA3.

I never said I was never going to buy another Bioware game after my disappointment with DA2. I did say I was never going to preorder another DA game and I hold to that still.

I would have purchased ME3 at release, and I was totally expecting it to be awesome given that it was done by a different team.

I didn't buy it, in the end, solely because of the Origin requirement and the fact that EA refused to provide an opt-out for origin datamining. That's totally unacceptable to me. I have work-releated files on my computer that are covered by NDA. I cannot agree to EULA's on client software that could be interpreted to allow scanning of files and folders on my hard drive that are unrelated to the games that I legally purchase.

As it turns out, the customer reviews of ME3 after release put me off the game anyways. The multiplayer-required to get the best ending makes it a null proposition given that I have a satellite internet connection and could not do MP even if I wanted to. The lame ending to the whole story is another thing that killed my interest. And the really lame way they dealt with the "Tali's face" reveal was just cringeworthy IMO. Based on that, I have now expanded my no pre-order policy to include anything from Bioware whether it's DA or not.

I had thought about snagging a second hand copy of ME3 for console instead of the (new) PC version to at least be able to conclude the story and still uphold my personal boycott of Origin, but now I can't even muster up enough enthusiasm for that.

But I will not be buying any EA games with a mandatory Origin requirement until they provide an opt-out for data mining, and/or amend the EULA to a more acceptable wording. Whether it's DA3, ME4, or whatever.

Not me. I liked DA2, and defended it against the worst of the exaggerations, while still being crtical of it's flaws (like endlessly reused maps). DA2 was nowhere near the quality of DA:O, but it was hardly so bad as to warrant any sort of a boycott.

ME3's ending is bad enough for me to have decided not to buy any ME3 dlc's, unless, by some miracuolus means I cannot fathom, the EC manages to correct the fundamental flaws with the ending within the restrictions they've set themselves (no changes to current endings).

Regardless of what happens, this whole ME3 ending business has put me off preordering DA3 - I'll rather wait a while after it's release to see the fan reception.

Me too, plus they were made by different teams, so it would not have been fair for me to prejudge one team based on the others shortcomings.

I liked DA2. It had its flaws but I found it entertaining.

I actually like ME3 better than DA2. Except for the ending, which (like everyone else) completely disappointed me.

But there were some great parts of ME3

Bioware has way more success than failures in my book. Not having a proper single player KotoR 3 is the biggest fail IMO.. but not enough for me to dismiss DA3.. I will buy it.

ME3 and DA2 don't really deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence, IMO.

DA2 was disappointing from start to finish. ME3 was quite possibly the best game of the series *until* the ending.

It is funny to me when people bring up different teams. Ever notice how ideas from one team ends up in the other's game? The creation of Hawke and the streamlining of DA2 amongst other things came about because of Mass Effect.  Then in MA3 enemies spawns (don't you just love how they just appear now?), the Journal and quest expirations amongst other things come straight from the much maligned DA2.

Neither game is developed in a bubble,

the teams influence each other for good and ill.

Nope

I liked DA2 not a patch on DA:O but it was ok

I saying it for ME3 though if extended cut doesn't come through and EA:Bioware don't fix EMS for single player then I won't be buying future games or DLC

A bad argument tbh...

What really matters are games, not the company itself. I love NWN, BG, PST and ME, but I am not interested in Dragon Age, Kotor, Jade Empire, etc., I simply don't find them appealing. It has nothing to do with Bioware, it is about taste.

If the next IP they create is appealing to me, I will try it, simple.

I liked DA2 it was a good game for 20 bucks but I also pretended it had nothing to do with DA:O and that helped. Still I never had any intention of paying full price for a game so disrespectful of its predecessor in terms of lore and story. And CHARACTER DESIGN

But I was promised something with ME3 and it was not delivered I will buy Bioware games when they are marked down to $20 then I will not be disappointed in them.

I liked DA2. Sure, the repaeated maps were bad, and the Act 3 plot was pretty weak, but overall it was still a lot of fun for me.

Nope. But then the Mass Effect games are the only BioWare ones I've ever bought. I'd not really paid all that much attention to games for years; when I last did it was mostly on a now largely-forgotten platform anyway. I only played it in the first place because SFDebris did a review and I had an Amazon gift voucher I'd not found a use for so thought "May as well give it a go." I had been planning to work my way through BW's back catalogue at some point.

I thought Dragon Age 2 was fatally flawed, but there were some things that it did right. It wasn't a terrible game, just an exceedingly average one.

Thing is, a bad game from a great dev. just makes me say, well somebody screwed up, guess I'll be more cautious in the future.

But when that same dev. makes a bad game (in this case just a bad ending) then treats their fans like crap for a month, that is enough to make me stop giving them money.

This is the issue for me as well.  I am most disturbed by the way BioWare has dealt with the face import and EMS problems, and the utter lack of respect they have showed their customers talking about those issues.  Chris Priestly has done more to reduce the likelyhood I will purchase anything from BioWare again than any of the problems in ME3 or DA2.
