First of all, you keep asserting that without any justification. Care to back that up with reasons? For instance, I say it does in this instance because it appeals to the RPG fan, for whom consistency and story are important, and coincidentally, makes up the bulk of the fanbase for ME and BioWare more generally.

And that's putting aside the fact that BioWare already went out of their way to incorporate lore in MP, which you seem content to ignore as well.

Assuming you even read this...

Halo - Master Chief is the last and only living Spartan. Halo MP has millions of Spartans running around killing each other... which would also be completely against lore since they were created to fight against another certain galatic threat...

Resident Evil 5 - Well, assuming anyone has played this.. Why would Wesker be HELPING you kill zombies? Especially if you are play Sheeva or Chris?

Crysis - There is only one working Nanosuit.... not millions. And that nanosuit had to assimilate alien DNA to achieve the abilities that it has...

JUST ABOUT EVERY MP GAME OUT THERE IS SEPERATE FROM THE LORE!!!!
HOW IS THIS A NEW ****ING CONCEPT TO YOU PEOPLE?
MP IS ABOUT HAVING FUN, NOT ABOUT A STORY AND STORY INTEGRITY!

Signed. It would be interesting to see what classes they fulfill and what skills they have. Probably adept/vanguard. I'd imagine they could be like the justicar: good support biotics with a secondary focus on weapon skills. But it seems like the justicar has that covered well enough.

Don't care if Protheans are in MP. I would like to see Heavy Weapon Elcor, however.

I say "No" because lore says there's only one surviving one and that is Javik. But I would not be opposed to some kind of play-alike class that had Dark Channel, but didn't look Prothean at all.

When it comes to the geth, I get how there are still geth fighting geth due to the reaper influence / heretics. However, even though the lore theoretically supports the type of technology to help restart the Prothean race, judging by Javik's opinion on the matter, I don't think he wants to reproduce and start over. And certainly his opinion would be a huge determining factor.

Also, with all of the resources and technology in the entire galaxy being committed to fighting the reapers, I don't think that anyone has the time and resources to commit to such a large project. I agree that playing a prothean in MP would be pretty sweet, but I'm willing to bet that BW has no intentions of trying to explain that into the storyline.

The ONLY way they could do it is if a DLC was released for SP in which perhaps by examining Javik's memory chip they discovered another cache of protheans that was still powered up and they were still in stasis.

General Consensus: It would be cool, but I don't think BW would do it from a lore standpoint based on the fact that Javik's attitude is pretty much that he's ready to go rest with his dead brothers. Would be cool though...

well salarian have a lot of time, and also hanars and volus that are not very strong races, and mordin(before dying) could make a sort of clone machine like okeer prject and the memories could be added with the memories of javik and the object he shows shepard everytime they talk(sorry but i don't remember the name of that thing)
so even if they are clones they can understand what they are and wgay they do, and they are old angry samurai that were killed by reapers ;)

Yeah, I suppose anything is writeable from a lore standpoint.  I mean, who'd a thunk you could put THAT much ridiculous circular reasoning into an ending and be good with it, so yeah, BW could make it happen.  I just don't think they will based on the direction they took the Javik character.  I would play the hell out of a prothean character I think, but I don't expect to be able to do that.    I gues my personal opinion is about 50/50 on the matter.

Excuse me, I have played Mass Effect 2. And I wasn't saying that geth on geth violence was a contradiction, I was saying that the existence of hostile geth in such mass, since they're either peaceful, destroyed, or busy fighting the quarians (depending on when the multiplayer takes place) is highly unlikely and makes no sense in the context of Mass Effect 3.

After rannoch it is mentioned there are still isolated pockets of geth. Having them in mp fits lore with no conflict. Suddenly finding a whole colony of protheans on ice? Not so much.

I'm not sure, but you seem to have come to the conclusion that I'm supporting the petition. That's definitely not the case.

Here are the facts.

1- Bioware has stated MP will not break SP lore
2- MP follows the assumption that Geth and Quarians were saved on Rannoch. Everything else jives with SP lore regardless of choices.
3- MP takes place during Shepard's efforts to collect war assets.
4- During this time only one Prothean is alive in SP lore.

THEREFOR PROTHEANS IN MP WILL NEVER JIVE WITH SP LORE.

Your opinions on whether or not lore has a place in MP are irrelevant, Bioware has stated how MP will be treated. You're only trying to convince yourselves here. Bioware knows better.

As for your statement of "People with a stick up their butt about lore and MP don't deserve to play MP."

People with a stick in their brain about lore being kept out of MP don't deserve to play SP or MP.

But the Lore'ites should be banned from MP if they have completed SP And not started a new SP campaign because the GaW is over for them right...
So clearly it is ok to break away from Lore. Not to mention BW has broken their own lore (no Protheans) and now there is one.
I personally think with all the interest they will put protheans in MP- because of all the attention it is getting.
I just hope its an N7 rare to fit with what I See as possible DLC (ie 1- a small enclave of Protheans are still existing, 2- a small group are still in stasis, 3- more are cloned from Javik).

I like this comparison. Lore obsession limits the directions a game can take, thus shortening the lifespan of MP. How can a game grow and evolve if this "lore law" prevents new ideas at every turn?

no thats not how forum works
on the topic: wont happen. there is only one prothean. i heavily doubt there are hundreds of them running in special forces across galaxy.

the fact that you can import ur mp char into sp, even though you never see them, proves me right.

Oh, yes. MP in lore makes total sense. Of course. It makes total sense that my salarian engineer does hundreds of identical missions against the same three enemies in same six places over and over again and they always come out in very orderly waves of increasing difficulty. Who could argue with that.

Let's face it. There could be a million Protheans suddenly running around in the real world. And it would STILL make more sense than the campaign endings. They might as well throw them in multiplayer.
