Great news?
What if she's coming back to do an extended synthesis ending?

Oh please god no.

This just made me do a spit take! LOL

Wonderful news though! Just the thought of new Mass Effect content already has me giddy!

Mike also said it isn't being rushed. They just have to get some priorities done first.

LIKE THE SHIP.

Yeah, I just hope this new voice work is also for the destroy ending, seeing how that ending is way more popular than the other options. And by that, I mean more than just a "Shepard, I trusted y... *dies* " line. But at least it's good to hear there will be new voice work, that's essential for the EC.

Well the ship AI would be a priority. And it means they are getting the big actors back.......

EDI: "Shepard, does this unit have a soul?"

Shepard: "I dunno, I'm just doing what he tells me. *points at Catalyst*"

Catalyst : *shrug*

Shepard: "Oh well, have a nice life EDI... oh, sorry."

*ZAP*

This pleases me.

When will other actors drop hints?

It calms people down Bioware....

I'm not sure if anything like that would calm me down.

Except perhaps Mark Meer confirming the return of the Biotic God.

The Biotic God would biotic-throw that walking, talking Wintersun song out the airlock. And all would be well.

Uh guys, this is not for the EC DLC. They are still in pre-production; VO work is some of the last stuff done on a project.

I'm not sure why everyone is getting so excited.

It's obvious she would have gone in to do more voice work, regardless of EC or not.

Really?

Then my expectations have fallen even lower. If they are already doing VO work, it means that they haven't really put a lot of thought into this. VO work tends to be the last stuff because it's so expensive to redo if they decide to change something.

Also, I apologize for not seeing that Twitter post. Don't have Gamble open in a tab constantly.

OR it's topical information because she was available. Miss Helfer works for a living and doesn't just sit around and look nice.

You can go in for more sessions. Furthermore it could be used for footage that is being added back IN.

At least, they would explain how and why Normandy retreats from the battle, with inhumane jokes and SCIENCE!

...except it would still be a waste if they were planning to do something earthshattering with the DLC and decided to change something midway through.

Plus VO work isn't purely hourly, it's usually a set price for a session, plus an hourly cost. Much more inefficient to just say, "Oh, we'll get to it in a later session."

Mike Gamble commented on VO recording:

"@GambleMike kind of amazed the VO work will start so soon. Did you have some ideas for EC before the outrage?"

"it's important the we push hard on the EC, that's all."

"@GambleMike I appreciate the teams work to give answers quickly, I am worried about it being rushed. Though you are in a rough spot"

"it's not being rushed. Rest assured - we just have a large team on it"

She's probably contracted already. Money has already been promised. Meer and Hale are as well.

Might be for non-ending related DLC. But who knows?

In the case that it is for the EC...
AWWWWWWWWWWWYEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

EDIT: And after reading this page my optimism has been crushed. Great.

Contracting doesn't mean Bioware gets constant access to her at an hourly rate. As I said in my edited post, devs tend to do VO work in as few sessions as possible to minimize the fixed per-session costs.

Edit: Contracting still involves the session costs, or is a specific number of sessions that is agreed upon beforehand. Either way, it is wasteful if they change stuff.
