Uh guys, this is not for the EC DLC. They are still in pre-production; VO work is some of the last stuff done on a project.

Gamble.......said it was......on Twitter.

EC is priority.

Really?

Then my expectations have fallen even lower. If they are already doing VO work, it means that they haven't really put a lot of thought into this. VO work tends to be the last stuff because it's so expensive to redo if they decide to change something.

OR it's topical information because she was available. Miss Helfer works for a living and doesn't just sit around and look nice.

You can go in for more sessions. Furthermore it could be used for footage that is being added back IN.

...except it would still be a waste if they were planning to do something earthshattering with the DLC and decided to change something midway through.

Plus VO work isn't purely hourly, it's usually a set price for a session, plus an hourly cost.

She's probably contracted already. Money has already been promised. Meer and Hale are as well.

Contracting doesn't mean Bioware gets constant access to her at an hourly rate. As I said in my edited post, devs tend to do VO work in as few sessions as possible to minimize the fixed per-session costs.

That's what I said when I said she works for a living. You get them when they're available. If she was available and they had preliminary dialouge ready they can reacord it.

My main point is that they do it in as few sessions as possible for financial reassons. They wouldn't just do a session to record a few lines of "preliminary dialog," far too wasteful.

The edit to my other post said this: Contracting still involves the session costs, or is a specific
number of sessions that is agreed upon beforehand. Either way, it is
wasteful if they change stuff.

They've been working hard since the announcements, spending up to eight hours in meetings. This isn't topical. It's probably a result of many, many late nights.

I wish I were as optimistic as you. I really do. I just don't want to be burned again by Bioware.

Mike Gamble commented on VO recording:

"@GambleMike kind of amazed the VO work will start so soon. Did you have some ideas for EC before the outrage?"

"it's important the we push hard on the EC, that's all."

"@GambleMike I appreciate the teams work to give answers quickly, I am worried about it being rushed. Though you are in a rough spot"

"it's not being rushed. Rest assured - we just have a large team on it"

Facinating, I wonder just how large the team is, that's got to be costly for a "free" DLC.

Not if you take the rapidly decreasing value of the intangible asset of goodwill for EA (historical cost, I know, but let's be real here.)

Plus the fact that their stock price is based on future earning potential. A massive angry customer base = lower future earings.

Great news?
What if she's coming back to do an extended synthesis ending?

Oh please god no.

This is an unfortunately likely possibility.

If it were Mark Meer or Jennifer Hale, then I would be curious, but EDI? No.

You know they are still under contract right? RIGHT?

Yes, I know.

Probably EC.

Look at ME2 DLC. Your squadmates didn't say a single word in any DLC (Kasumi, Zaeed, LotSB) and Arrival took it to a new level, since you play alone as Shepard.

With the cut dialogue system we got on ME3 they will probably not care a single **** about squadmates dialogue. It's Extended Cut, almost sure.

Taboo-xx how did you know Bioware employs 800 people? I'm not trying to debunk you or anything I'm just simply wondering is all.

800 people across like 8 studios. Bioware Edmonton probably doesn't hire more than 300 people. Doesn't matter. I believe them if they say they have large team for EC. Large team = more manpower = less time necessary to do it and time does matter

I thought they were still planning out what would be in the EC, but judging from those tweets, it's almost as if they are close to completion (besides the voice acting).
