I just don't know if they're paid per-performance or if they're paid per-session.

So they could do recording for mutliple DLC (since a lot of it is probably already written) in fewer overall sessions, but if they're paying a flat fee for each title (e.g., Tricia Helfer gets paid $X for her work in Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut), then I doubt they would bother.

My demands to Mike are probably more reasonable if they pay per-session (and then the lines for all DLC are recorded in relatively few sessions), but I can't imagine any actor being allowed to sign a contract like that. (I'll make the demands anyway, and he better deliver, but I'd feel more optmistic if I knew they had a way to more cheaply do it.)

That explains why Joker was seen flying away! It was EDI!!! =P

Well it means they are putting a lot of effort into the extended cut, would like some other VA confirmations though, an EDI monologue would be a bit disappointing, but I understand the constraints.

True. Every other DLC  has had no dialogue from any of the main cast (besides Meer/Hale). LotSB had Hillis, but she was the main focus. None of the other squadmates say a word (except a repurposed exclamation when Baria Frontiers blows up). No dialogue from Joker or EDI either.

So this will prove interesting either way, like you say.

I always wondered if they do these things in bulk. I suspect a lot of the writing is already done far in advance of the content being released, so they could conceivably record everything in one or two sessions instead of calling them back for each individual DLC.

Ironically, EC perhaps is what will secure us new squad lines in Omega DLC. Yeah, DA2 DLC had squad talking, but ME2 DLC did nto (which was sometimes just jarring as as with Legion in Overlord). So it's possible they didn't plan to bring back the squad VAs for Omega, but since they're bringing them for EC,they will have them record some lines for Omega too

Just speculation of course. One way or another, this is very optimistic news
