So here we are, humanity, a  pre-spacefaring species, just minding our own business.
Then, out of nowhere, big green light Boom! We are all involved in a symbiotic relationship with alien technology.

I am curious what people would do since so many appear to have such a visceral hate for Synthesis.

I expect mass suicides at first out of fear followed by joy when we realize these upgrades are, actually, very benefitial.

Who the hell knows? I mean if you're trying to draw a direct parallel comparison with the ME3 ending in order to justify it, then it would be remiss on your part not to mention the fact that we actually have absolutely, positively no clue what the effects of synthesis really are, or what they will be in the future.  And that everything you're saying will be complete conjecture on your part.

I'd be confused as to what had happened and why I was able to use my cat as a toaster. I mean half machine and all right so I could do that?

I would use my newfound intelligence to build synthetics so I would never have to work again.

After they rebel and destroy all us mutants, I would wonder why no one (perhaps a giant cuttlefish) told me this was a bad idea and stopped me.

I'd want to know if using the restroom would be different or not.

I'd build Cylons! Then the day would come when the Cylons decide to kill their masters.

Which would be really easy since instead of fighting us in a long and bloody war they'd just hack us like a computer and turn as all off! Then of course my Cylons would proceed to destroy the galaxy because that's the kind of thing you do when you find out who made you. Apparently.

Barring that I'd just dance!

I think I'd rather become a Reaper than undergo synthesis (in which even my own underwear would achieve sentience...)
