It just occured: in all of my ME1 playthroughs I maxed ou the credit counter. So where the heck did all that money go from 1 to 2? Because holy crap would it have been useful early on.
As Doctor Smith said in a terrible movie...

they built ME2 from the ground up. But if you do have the Rich achievement, you will get so much credits.
that is why there is no ME1 armors in ME2.
