Just got a chance to see Avengers here. It was well worth the money to see. So many good funny moments but Hulk stole the show I think. Characters all seemed to flow with each other. Kinda surprised at how well it was done.

I was not because Joss Wheadon has a knack for this sort of thing and he is a fan of the source material. I am happy it turned out as well as it did. Unlike someone Bay who has no love for the transformers.

Also this guy http://www.escapistm...s/5674-Avengers (go thru the credits also)

Ya and with that 3rd hour (if they do a Directors Cut on Blu-Ray/DVD) put in WarMachine.  He must've got edited out in the cutting room.  I really liked the movie but at the end I was like "WTF was WarMachine??"  I mean Don Cheadle was on the cast list on RottenTomatoes, so I assumed he'd be in this movie.

I did not see him on IMDB but once Stark goes back to his building in the third act I was waiting and hoping for that cameo. He is really the only other "Avenger" that has been introduced in the other movies.

And yes The Hulk was excellent.

Haha, that was another good one. Honestly, Whedon has always excelled at the one liner.

Sites like that can be very wrong.  I remeber seeing an interview where they said War Machine wasn't going to be present.

Just watched it. Cheesy Dialogue and quite cliche. I was expecting something more thought provoking. I give it a 7.9/10

Meh... Inorman and Tho are interesting to see.

Hulk and Cap? Not really. Especially not hulk. He's my least favorite "superhero" of all time.

I've never been a big fan of the Hulk, but I think Mark Ruffalo did an amazing job.

Finally saw it myself. Wow. God bless you Joss Whedon. Few minorish gripes, like Cap not geting to kick enough ass in my opinion, or getting to be really inspiring, but hey, it was 99.5% perfection.

But he did give me what I wanted from Cap: Mainly stepping up to the plate and being the leader when it all hit the fan. I was worried they'd default to Downey too much as leader because he was the bigger star.

I was also really happy that they took the time to give the normals their moments. Like Natasha, Hawkeye, Fury and especially the other shield agents Hill and Colson. Phil did make the movie for me.

Even my wife, who's not as into super hero movies as I, loved it and wants to see it again. Definately one you want to see in the theatre with a full audience.

Oh God yes please. Do want.

I saw it two days after opening night here in the Netherlands. It was amazing. Dutch moviegoers aren't really given to standing ovations at the end of a movie (last time I think that happened was Return of the King), but they did it this time :D

Unfortunately I also missed about half the dialogue because people were laughing, but hey, it was awesome anyway and I'm going to see it again this weekend.

I hope so...The Dark Night was IMHO inferior to Batman Begins.

Hence only 5% wasn't perfect.  And that 5% was still wonderful:)
The audiance lent something to the feel and tone.  But at the same time I'd also enjoy seeing it with a smaller crowd.  the Laughter made you miss a few lines, and I'd like a better seat.

Also true. I missed Hulk's one line of dialogue due to the audience standing up and cheering. But still great that a movie can actually get an audience to do that.

In my adult life, I recall witnessing a standing ovation twice in films: Superman; after stating 'Truth, justice, and the American way', and for Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves; when King Richard is revealed. While I will miss this one, reading the Quoted lines over at Imdb has me seeing this fairly clearly.

Joss Whedon is not always my fave director, but may be the best for this subject matter; seems much like Serenity upon scrutiny. Good work, sir!

Finally saw it...thought it was great...even though I thought Iron Man, Thor and Hulk outshined everyone else as far as powers were concerned...and Iron Man just outshined everyone except for Loki...I can't help it...I love Loki. Loved the scene where Hulk threw Loki around like a ragdoll...very Looney Tunes...lmao.

No, you're not alone. I think The Dark Knight took itself too seriously. In Batman Begins the villains seemed like real people so the serious tone is justified.

tdk is a great comic book film and the story is great i even admit i think its gona be hard to top with dark knight rises and sometimes i do ask myself why not make joker the villain for the last film and have bane be in the 2nd?

im not complaining but im just curious to see if im the only one who thinks of it like that

now avengers is great mainly because its just a fun flick to enjoy and yea the story imo felt more of a tie up lose ends story in the first hour with capt, thor and iron man

but still i saw this film 3 times and i plan on buying the dvd cause the last time i had fun at a movie like this was the first jurassic park film wich i saw 10 yes 10 times in theatres growing up

Just got back from seeing it.
The only thing i can say is that I feel like a kid. Getting excited over super heroes is rare. I enjoy them sure but I don't get excited like I did as a kid.
Something I noticed was during the end action there was moments that reminded me of the X-men Cartoon. Where everyone is off fighting here and there and the camera will follow Ironman and Black Widow passes by. I cannot think of one thing I have against this movie. The humor the charcters all getting equel screen time. This is where my faith in Joss Whedon is well placed and I don't think anyone could've done a better job with this.
I can go on and on and on but I'm as excited to see it again and again and I can already say that excitement will stay even though I've seen it.
That never happens!

When all was said and done I just shouted "THANK YOU JOSS WHEDON" I don't care if he can here it it needs to be said.
Also I would like to point out those expecting something else should get that stick out of their asses.  This is exactly what the super hero genre needed.  Don't compare it to Nolan's Batman gritty and realistic was so far from what they were going for.  Its like comparing The Expendables to Inception!  2 different beasts.

The movie was freaking awesome, loved all the action and humor, and it turned out even better than I had hoped. I will say the story was a little light though. I had to explain to my brother afterwards who Loki's army was because not once in the movie did they actually call them Skrulls, just jith'tari or whatever the hell they call themselves in there own language. Other than that it was really great, can't wait for the next one, Thanos is one of my most favorite villians of all time and I hope the story will be all about the Infinity Gauntlet.

Was anyone else severely disappointed after seeing the Batman trailer? Bane looks and sounds like crap, I hate the way he wears that stupid fur coat in most the scenes I've seen, and Anne Hathaway looked exactly like the Catwoman from the old Adam West tv series, such a terrible casting decision there. It was almost bad enough that I don't want to see it now. Almost....
